I received a call today from a man who was definitely a foreigner saying he was a federal US govt worker calling to inform me I was selected by the govt for being a good citizen out of 1500 in my area to receive $9700. He proceeded to call out my personal info and he called out a home address is never heard of. I told him this was not my address. He then tells me he needs to update his system with my new info and wants my new address. I told him no I wasn't giving him any info because the government should know all of my info already. He hung up. So beware. There is no govt agency that chooses 1500 people in each state and randomly chooses one of these 1500 and gives them a large sum of money that never needs to be repaid.

Says he's from federal government grant, at this point I said no thank you and hung up.
They hav allied at least 6 times in the last week

I just got a phone call from here. If I understand area codes right, this is from Egypt. Also claimed to be working for a government agency to give me a federal grant. I said I was in a hurry and had to go get lunch (which I still do) so he gave me a New York number (315-385-4228) to call back and an "approval number".

Has called me SIX times today. If I ask who he is he hangs up instantly. My boyfriend answered once and he proceeded to tell him he was a federal agent and we had money waiting for us to claim it.

Received a call from a foreign male with a 202-000-0010 number. He knew my name. I said I did not want to receive calls from Egypt and he proceeded to say f*** you repeatedly. Scary and super frustrating.

I do not answer calls from unknown numbers and I'd like to thank everyone who visited this site for leaving their comments. So to sum up, this is yet another phone scam of which I get more of than I care to count. Oh how I'd love to start capturing them and bring to justice. Will it ever stop?

how do I block this number?

They call me continually and ask for me by name. How do I block them. Twice a girl and the rest men.

Guy called me knew my first name ask where I was he was going to meet me when I asked who it was he said he was going to meet me it was just me and him I told him there was no me and him to call my husband he said no I want to know where you are right now I told him he was a idiot I wasn't telling him nothing he kept calling back I didn't answer

got a call from them. lady sounded foreign and i told her i could not understand her and she hung up

this number keeps calling me.  i told her don't call here again and she said f--k you.

I've received at least 8 calls from this number (202-000-0010) within the last couple days. I've answered only twice, first time it was a woman asking to speak to me (by name) then she went on to say something else which I didn't understand.  She hung up when I told her I didn't understand her.  The 2nd time I answered, it was a guy asking for me.  When I said it was me, he said something I couldn't understand and I waited for him to keep on talking.  My silence prompted him to say hello again and before I could say anymore he hung up. How do I block this number since they keep calling me?

Look in the instruction book that comes with your home phone. Mine has a section on blocking specific numbers. Easy to do, but you have to have caller ID for this to work.

Got two calls so far today. First one I answered and the foreign guy that sounded middle eastern, so I'll buy everyone's claims that he was Egyptian, called and from what little I could hinders rand, he addressed me by name and said something about being eligible for a $3000 line of credit. Here's the thing: my husband has really bad credit and I have zilch credit. Zip, zero, nada, nothing. As in Never taken a loan out in my name, never had a credit card, gotten a house, or a car or even a cell phone In my name so far. Nothing. I have applied for credit cards a few times the past few years as well as for in store on credit things to be denied due to my lack of credit trail.!i thought I heard wrong, so I asked to have him repeat the info. There was either a lot of wind or a lot of static throughout the call, and each of the following 3-4 times I asked he was getting more aggravated and less intelligible. After the 4th or 5th time of not being able to hear, I said good bye and hung up. Got called again and didn't even hear my phone ring as it was charging in the other room and my boys are really loud. Given what little I could hear and the fact that I am having a hard time getting approved for a loan or a line of credit for $200 let alone $3000, I figured it was a scam and was curious if anyone had a name for the company or people so I could report to the BBB.
