The call I got was a scam, trying to phish my bank info.  Said they were with the US Gov, and needed my bank info,

I got a call as well saying from the US GOV?

they said i can give you 8000 doller

what are they trying to do? I hung up on them, but how do they have my info?

said they were a grant company wanted me to send in $155 to recieve the grant

they called me and said that i had been approved for a $8,500 gov grant and they would deposit it in my account all i had to do is give them my bank account info. they gave me a number to call to confirm the grant and that number was a unanswered cell phone. its a scam and my dumb [***] gave them my account info

She said I was approved for an 8000 grant from gov.  Started asking me how I want the money, I told her I didn't believe any of it, she responded"Your not the only one who needs this money" and hung up on me

Keeps calling

I got a call saying I won 14000 and told me to call back when the number really never existed.

Received a call from this number on my work cell phone when i said hello and my company name the caller responded with bulls*&t and hung up

OH S*&^%$ I got at least 5 calls per day, telling me he is an investigator... it's like WTF...

This number has called at least ten times today. When I finally answered it, he claimed he was from the US Government offering me a grant. I told him no thank you, that he had called me repeatedly, and that he needed to stop. I was very polite. However, as soon as I asked him to stop calling, he became very belligerent and rude. I hung up on him.

Kept getting calls from number for days but no one would say anything. When I called the number back I would get a message from my phone company saying this call is unable to be dialed. Funny thing... today I googled the number, found this site with all the complaints and they called. The person with a heavy Indian accent telling me I have the opportunity to have a gov grant , I cut him off said I wasnt interested and dont call me again.

Yep..they claim they are the US Govt.  If you demand to be taken off the list they nang up on you.  They call like 4 times a day.  Sucks.

Govt. THIS! I gave him false information and recorded the conversation.
Guess what I am going to do now..........

Repeated calls

I have been haunted by that number for the past 2 weeks, and I found this site and I answered it in a language that I don't even know existed, and after they asked me a question I continued and then they started to mock me, and so I hung up....Anyone professional would not do that...so it needs to stop!!! (like yesterday)

I started receiving calls on my cell phone today 2/21/12 from (202) 001-5000 at 11:59 a.m., 12:02 p.m. and 1:35 p.m.   I answered the 1:35 p.m. phone call and was prepared as I read all the reports on the internet about this number.  When I answered Hello, I received a beep beep beep followed by a hang up.  I have only recently started receiving unknown calls on my cell the last 3 weeks, which makes me believe my phone number got onto some scam artist list.  I am posting the other telephone numbers below in case there is some connection with these numbers and maybe some of you have been receiving calls from these as well:
