Was trying to say I got a grant for 9000 dollars

The caller identified themselves as a govt. worker and said I had won some money.  RIGHT!  I'm sure it was a scam.

Received a call but did not answer it !!

Got a call, when I answered no one said anything and then a recording just said "Good bye"  when I tried to call back there was no answer

I got the same story when I answered.

I told them this a private number & do not call again.  He said "I [***] your ass"

I was outside playing and i came inside to eat and my momma had told me that i got a call and i checked and i told her the number she said " 202"? I dont know dat number.... i looked it up then i found a bunch of reveiws and i do belive it was a skam...... didnt even have the courage.to leave a message and when i do try to call it back, there is no anwser so then i knew it was a skam or prank cal

My wife and I both received calls from this number on our cell phones. I did not answer. She did answer. They kept asking for the owner of the cell phone. When she asked why they wanted the info. She said they were quite rude.

I got the call. I just let whoever it was talk. After I didn't speak for 2 minutes he just hung up. He stated it was a grant for $9,000 and would never have to be paid back. He also said "You are probably wondering why you are getting a call..." then hung up.

A very un-american sounding lady called and told me she was from the"United States Government" I said "OK, which department?" 3 seconds of silence before she hung up. No answer when I tried calling back. Obviously a scam, but not even a good try, Where's your pride con-artists?

this was [***] cause i was mowing my yard and i heard my phone say 1 missed call and then i called it back and it said the person you have called is unavailable right now please try again later i then searched the number and got the owners name which i will be reporting to the police later

Just received a phone call from this number and the person on the other end who supposedly works for the US Government could barely speak or understand English.  They offered me a $9,000 grant and said that in order to receive it I would have to give them my bank information or the information for one of my credit cards.  I laughed.  They hung up.  Here's the sad thing.  There are people stupid enough to fall for this.  If there weren't, none of us would get these calls.

Just received a call offering me a $9000 government grant.  The caller spoke with a heavy accent, and after making the offer, said, "I'll bet you're wondering what you did to qualify for this."  When I answered, "Well, yeah, I am, because the government has NEVER called to offer me money.  They only call when they WANT money from me."  After clearing his throat, the caller hung up.  When I tried to return the call, I got a message that the line was busy and to try again later.

I have no doubt that this is a scam.  Scott, thanks for doing the extra research and reporting a name to an official agency. :)

I got this same call just a second ago, i listened to what they said about the 9000 dollar scholarship offter, however they said I could use the money for a vacation but not alcohol.  I kept playing stupid asking them to repeat themselves because they were having a very hard time speaking in english and understanding my questions.  I kept asking for them to forward me to the treasury before i gave them my info because I really wanted to talk to them but they wouldn't and kept repeating themselves about needing "any sort of plastic card, or bank account number" sooo I asked if they were talking about a gift card, because i didn't know what they meant by "plastic card", so i got transfered to the supervisor (they never put me on hold, simply laid the phone down and went and got another person who was slightly better with English , and  when I asked what time it was in D.C. they snickered and said  "we call you back at 6".

My husband just got a call from this number.  Same thing as everyone else.  Hardly spoke English, said they were from the US govt and that he had a large amount of money coming his way.  He said the they needed a bank or credit account number to transfer the money.  When he said he didn't think he wanted anything to do with it, the man started cussing at my husband.  
They told him he could not gamble with the money!

Just got repeated calls from the same number, barely spoke english. Got angry when my father who is hard of hearing ask them to speak to me, I could barely understand him. I hung up after he refused to identify himself he called back 6 times. Refused to say who they were other than US Government. he went on to threaten me with legal action. Got even angrier when I told him go ahead. After that made comments sbout terrorists.

Same a very un american female called n all she said is she is from united. States. Government department. N i said wat and within. Five secounds she hung up on me. I calledback no ansrew n i got a recording saying thd number is un available or somethin

I received a call from a  US GOVERNMENT 202-210-0054 (Holley Perry) official saying we qualified for a 9000 grant to use as we needed. Told caller we were on a "do not call registry and would report this call to officials". He said Government calls do not have to obey by those rules.....LOL......

This same person calling from this number called my cellphone, my wife's cell phone, and our house phone.   He called the house phone 3 times in a row, which led my wife to finally answer.   She told him not to call again and he told her to "F**K Off".   He then called back twice more, with the same startup line, so I'm not sure if he was calling back on purpose as a nuisance, or if his calls were being automated.
