claims to be from irs with a very heavy accent and says to return call that there is a warrant for name and address out... never says name of who calling for.

I got the same call today. sounds like a scam to me. says from IRS and has a very heavy accent. hard to understand.

SCAM - IRS sends letters long before any arrest warrants are even considered.

This is designed to scare the pants off old people and the ill-informed.

Whoever is doing this is a b*st*rd.

If you google 2022392421 you'll see similar reports -- that number is the caller ID number; Washington DC, a person with an Indian/Pakistani accent claiming to be an officer with the IRS, stating the IRS has an arrest warrant for "you" (didn't use my name) and my physical address is under investigation. There doesn't usually seem to be a way to trace this back anywhere useful, but they left a callback number of 302-239-2421 (ie., same number as the caller ID, but different area code). Of course, I didn't call it, but wonder how they work this scam without getting caught...

Those calls happened. An Indian call center individuals faking a DC number calls. You cant call back but they route a voicemail "Officer John White" in. A total scam.

A gentleman with an Indiam or so, called and I listened to the recorded message, telling that an arrest will be out and I should call a certain Nr. Which I did no get.How can we stop these scams? , because this happened to me before when I was travelling in Europe.Most annoyinh
