A message was left on my home phone.  Caller said he was William Wright from DEA in Washington, D. C.  I know this is a scam ( as another person using the same name called me in Feb.). I didn't call back!

Call received June 25th, 2012 at 4:20 PM MDT (6:20 PM EDT) caller LM saying he was William Wright,  with the United State District Attorney's office in Washington, DC, requesting I return his call to 202 239-2860 regarding federal charges that were being brought against me for purchasing meds overseas.

Big "Thank you" to those of you that posted similiar calls, all a SCAM.  So glad I googled his name before I returned the call.

Got a call from "Special Agent, William Wright, with the US DEA Office in Washington, D.C." on my home phone answering machine this morning. He sounded very 'official' and sincere. However...

Unless "Hello, there" counts as a name, he did not give the name of the person he was calling; he just 'identified' himself (his "name" and 'phone number') and immediately began his spiel that "This call is in regards to the Federal charges that are being charged against you in the Federal Court, here in Washington, D.C. Please contact me as soon as possible at 202-239-2860." He then repeated his 'name'.

Dude must've been feeling lazy this morning -- or maybe he'd just woken up (it was shortly past 8am EDT): He didn't even name the person he was calling [the person who was having "charges'" brought against them] and he flat forgot to tell me why "the US DEA" was involved. HUGE red flags for me. Thank heavens for the Internet -- I now know it all has to do with "medications". Unfortunately, the soonest I will be able to "contact him" is when the sun stops rising in the morning and setting in the evening -- in other words, never. lol!

Just got the same call from "Officer Wright" claiming a warrant was issued for my arrest.  He told me that all charges would be waived if I paid $2500 today.  When I asked for documentation, he hung up.  A TOTAL SCAM!

Got a call from Mr. Wright on my cell phone. Have only had this number since June 2012.  Did not say my name but said it was about drugs I had ordered from overseas.  Since I had not ordered drugs, I did not return the call.  Think I'll call AT&T and make them aware.

Please catch these people, they are really scary.
Mr. Powell said that he was a DEA in the Washington office and the I would be arrested with in the hour if I did not follow his directions.
"send money transfer from western Union for 1,800 dollars or will be going to jail for 3 years"!
Did not fall for the scam.
Please catch these horrible people and put them in JAIL.

    NO DEA SCAM FOR ME
This felon, William Wright, is a criminal and is using other alias' and other phone numbers....he and other use majic jack to make it appear that it is an official washington number (202) area code -- this is a SCAM to extort money from you....hang up, do not answer, report the b@stard to the DEA but do NOT SEND HIM OR HIS ILK ANY MONEY -- they are committing another felony by impersonating a federal officer.  People have committed suicide this [***] has scared them so badly...he should be charged with murder....DO NOT, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.  This is so widespread, it is hard for the DEA to catch all of them, and many originate from outside the US, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, but they have US citizens helping them over her, hence the guy with the good english.  I hope he burns in hell for the way he has chosen to make money, and the people who have lost their lives due to his threats.

Got the same call, this time he used 202-241-5693.  I got mad at him because it was a bunch of bs and he said he'd "call back with all the info on the transactions".  I haven't heard back so I assume he's moving on to an easier target.
