they said they were the i r s and   werre going to sue me

Can a call saying it was the IRS and I was being sued, to immediately call this number 202-239-6601.  This is obviously a scam, as I have an excellent credit rating and have paid all taxes.  Caller ID said it was from 413-983-5587

I just received that scam.  The fake IRS people stated; "this is our last attempt trying to reach you". Fake number from D.C.  (202) 239-6601

I received a very threatening voice mail today, 2/18/'15.  The message stated it was the IRS; it also stated this 'particular call' was their 'final notice.'  Meanwhile, I had received no messages via the IRS 'to-date.'   They suggested that the IRS would be filing a 'LAW SUIT' against me; therefore, I needed to return their call immediately @ 202-239-6601.  The phone# is out of Washington, D.C. ~ I telephoned them, and the person on the receiving-end stated they were unable to view My-Acct on the screen.  After I informed them that there would be absolutely no reason whatsoever for the IRS to have any law-suit against me, and after 15 minutes of back and forth, w/ both parties expressing their thoughts, the representative assured me it was an error on behalf of the IRS; however, they would not provide a Supervisory or a Manager's phone#, so that I could verify further.  They simply stated that the phone call made to my
cell# was made in error; it was not intended for me.  Very, very odd; and very, very disheartening.

I intend to report this to the FBI as this is a Federal Crime.   They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
