Individual(s) identifying as Officer or Agent "something innocuous & whitebread sounding*" with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Internal Revenue Service state that there is a warrant out for you and that your physical address is under Federal investigation. Of course, it's very important that you call back as soon as possible (or today) to prevent Federal action being taken.

*I got "John White," with a distinct Indian accent, and "Mark Watson," but have seen other similar names & call back numbers reported online, supposedly from IRS CID; messages were nearly word-for-word from the same script.

got the exact same message. Called back they read a name that does not exist so I asked them who the hell they think they are calling up a stranger to make a criminal accusation which itself is a criminal offense.

Yes! He called. I did not answer and let it go to voice mail. The message was that officer John White was telling me that I was under arrest by the IRS. It is a scam! I texted him an obscenity after replying with "fraud". I reported one such number to the FBI or some such bureau; but I am getting very tired of this!  

I got this scam call, identifying himself as IRS agent, representing Federal government.  Please investigate and stop scaring people with scam.

Left same message listed by others (IRS agent, house investigation, bla bla bla).
I plan to call them back and have some fun time with them, providing fake info and insulting them in the process.

I received a call from this number claiming it was someone from the SSA concerning my Tax forms.
Same MO, American names with middle eastern accents, background noise, etc..

Received a call from these scumbags, don't fall prey to their BS. They were threatening tax audit. I argued with them, calling the scumbags for trying to take advantage of people. He replied FU and have a nice day.
