Fake IRS SCAM number. I stayed on the line (just to see what happened) and got transferred around about four times - each time they said they were passing me to a supervisor who sounded the same as the last person with the same background noise. Funny, all four people I talked to had the same accent.

The person that called me said that he was IRS and that Homeland Security was also on the call and that my local County officials were coming to arrest me if didn't pay them.

It was so ridiculous. These departments don't interact like that.

They said I could pay them $1900 now or $35,000 at the Courthouse. Everyone knows you don't pay your Goverment IRS fees to your local county courthouse. You have to hurry, though, because the police are on the way to arrest you.

The whole scam was laughable but I there are people who will fall for this.

They called both of my phones(home & cell).

In my case, they claimed that I was being indicted on three federal offenses, or something ridiculous like that.  Since I was already getting a lot of calls from people claiming to be lawyers warning me of this and telling me to get help, I was expecting such a scam and just hung up.

They call my house several times and left messages.today i got someone called officer san cooper who has a strong indian accent.he said hes from the internal revenue and im so angry i said im not stupid to believe you scamner.you have a f...indian accent and i know what to do if u call again.he hanged up.i already called my phone company.also going to call the unlawful call center.this is rediculous as three peopke left messages during this month.one from a person called Julie Smith.one from officer Frank and two from cooper.i also told Irs never call homes and leave messages.

Decided to fill his voice mail box after he harassed my wife.  Said he was IRS.  May just call him every 2 minuets just because.

got a call last month from 202-506-9967 and then again today from 202-241-1698 bothe claiming to be from the IRS
If this was for real then my local IRS would contact me not one from the district of columbia in washington or from Beltsville, MD

With an accent that sounds like a man from Pakistan or India saying he was "Officer John David (I think - accent was so thick) from the Internal Revenue Service..."  I called the "direct telephone number" as he directed.  I called when I almost positive the office is closed.  They actually had an answering machine:  "thank you for calling the Internal Revenue Service" ...

It could make someone think the call is genuine!

Is there any action taken against those who set up base here in the US to rip innocent public.

Agent Sam Cooper has informed me that my wife has committed fraud on her taxes
And a legal affidavit  was in place.  Mr. Cooper was hard to understand because of
his Indian accent.  Cooper advised that the charge of fraud was serious and if not
taken car of arrest warrant would b served.
