They threatened me with arrest saying they were from the FBI and needed my Social Security number.  

The called my mother in law saying there was an arrest warrant in Washington. These idiots I have never been to Washington and I am a police officer so if there was a warrant my department would know. Don't fall for this scam

Left a garbled message on my machine that there was an arrest warrant in my name and I needed to call them with my social security number.  Yeah, right. I'll give you that and my mother's maiden name too.

i got a call from this number too. It is a scam.

202 241-7147 called my home about 10 times in one day. Left several messages for my name with a Jr. at the end which is silly, as I'm a female, not a junior.  stated that there is a warrant for my my arrest and that i needed to call them asap. Lots of background noise, garbled messages so you won't get it all in the hopes that you'll call back. Strong Indian accent, man calls himself , Mark. He called again in the evening, my son answered, the guy then wanted my cell phone number. When "Mark" said he worked for Criminal Investigation services, my son hung up on him.

I have now received three phone calls from this number and reported each to the Police. The male individual calling, had a strong Indian accent and threatened me with a warrant for my arrest, saying they were from the IRS. The local police have been very reassuring, informing me, they are, in fact a scam. Apparently, they  have been trying to obtain information regarding credit cards & social security numbers, claiming you can pay off the amount owed, and the warrant will be dropped. When I told them I had already reported them to the local authorities, they became very indignant and told me that I had made an error in doing such a thing. The volume at which they conveyed this, was extreme and frightening enough, that I called immediately the local police. I was informed that, had a warrant indeed been issued, no phone calls are ever made. In fact, no notice is given, and an officer would have shown up at the door to speak with me. I was further advised, to contact my local phone company, and have this number blocked.

Same thing as above - several messages left on my answering machine about an arrest warrant - strong accent and barely understandable.  Haven't called back, but caller id shows up as 202-241-7147, and that's the number they tell you call back about the arrest warrant.

I had the same call as above, a men with an indian accent said that there is a warrant for me and that he is from the Criminal Investigation Unit, IRS. Call himself officer Tim somebody (mumble his last name) and ask me to call back at 202-241-7147, the same number is in the caller id. haven't call back, but called IRS to confirm and reported the call.

Same thing just now.  Caller with accent from this number claiming there is an arrest warrant in my name.  I told him I think there's about to be a warrant in his name.  He tried to keep up the conversation but soon hung up.  I had gotten a similar call before and when dialing back the number it was not a working number.  This time there was a recorded message sounding very faint and digital against loud background noise, saying "this is the IRS, please leave a message".  I wish there was a better way to catch and prosecute these scammers.

I have also received phone call from that number with similar story. But the accent is now Chinese.
