Message left on phone from supposedly an officer of criminal investigation at IRS.  Claimed my name was used (never stated) in criminal action and must call back immediately. The message was long and no name was mentioned. It sounded ominous like I did something .  Husband said that they send letters and don't call. I know it's a Washington number.

This is how comcast heard the message "This is officer Shirley Cruz calling you from the criminal investigation house Internal Revenue Service. The moment you get this message. You need to give me a call back on the IRS number of Crime Investigation on 202-241-7826. I repeat it's 202-241-7826. There's a notice issued on your name and there are serious-grabbed(?) against your name by the Crime Investigation Internal Revenue Service. As a matter of urgency. I'm looking forward to speak to you."

I just got a call from a Shirley Cruz, saying there's a investigation on me, I called back, and her voice mail with her name. My son googled it up and I see she called other people, WELL, I WILL BE CONTACTING POLICE, CALLING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, AND MAY CALL THE NEWS CHANNELS, if someone is going around saying that their from internal revenue office, they will be found!!!!! U messed with the wrong chick,!!!!!!!

It is beyond my understanding that some one will call impersonating an IRS agent and say that we are in a three way call with the Department of Home Land Security, will accuse me of tax fraud and on top of that will say that mi own town police would be at my door in a matter of an hour to serve me with an arrest warrant and after all this they want me to  use the OCR Process (Out of court Restitution Process) to settle paying a fine of $4,786 Dollars.
Is any body trying to find out who these people are?
What are the authorities doing about it?
The police in my town new about this scam but they also said that they can not do anything about it.

Just got the same call from "Shirley Cruz" or "Kluth",  possibly an Indian accent, saying she is from the IRS and it's urgent and my name is associated with criminal investigation and that I need to call back immediately. Very scary sounding. But she doesn't mention my name or anyone else's in the message. 202-241-7826

I also received a call from "Shirley" who left a message a few days ago, also did not use my name. Today i got a voice mail from a name, couldn't understand his name, but it did take 1 min for him to come up with my name. The number he left i couldn't not understand either. I'll be filling out the form from TIGTA to let them know this is happening. I hope this stops as well.

I got the exact same message.  Word for Word....  guess she hasn't been caught yet .... I certainly hope no one paid her.  And actually, I WOULD like to talk to her and ask where I might meet her to pay my fines .... as I pay all my bills in person ...   When I called back to "discuss"  I got message stating "the MAGIC JACK" user was not available!  HAHAHAA now IRS is using Magic Jack !  OMG

Yes, I have just received the phone call from "Shirley Cruz" an officer from the criminal investigation department of the IRS. blah blah blah, exactly all of the wording from the others here.

i just got that same call...didnt recognize the # (said wireless caller) so i let the answering maching get it it... it said : *This is Officer Cruz calling you...click* <--she didnt even complete the message/call

got the same call but from a different number 202-738-1500.  I reported it to TITGA.
