it said it was the IRS calling and that you are being sued and you need to call this number and give them all your information over the phone.I no for a fact the IRS is not going to call you on the phone they will send an agent to your house.

I just got that call too.  I also have no reason that IRS would want anything to do with me.  I think its a scam, going to report it.

Just received the call as well. I tried calling back to bust them out and tell them to quit scamming people. They finally answered the phone and they were speaking in another language.

I received a call from a male voice that gave me badge #757508 from the IRS in Washington that said that we miscalculated our taxes from 2012-13 and we owe $3,680.00 and an agent would be coming to our house and to hang up for local verification.

Also got this call, scammers. IRS does not call, they would semnd a letter, check the IRS website.

Initially showed up on my called ID as a number from Egypt, but then the voicemail shows it as a Washington D.C. number... Voicemail states that there is a case against me and to call them back...

I got an automated voice message saying the IRS was suing me. I called the number, which is the same as the one that called me (see above), and they hung up after verifying my name.

Same as above.  IRS will send a registered letter before legal action, not a robocall.  Reporting.

I called it, and it he tells me he is from the IRS.  It is a SCAM.  The IRS will never call you.  They will send you letters, and may show up at your door steps, but they do not call.

This number called wityh an automated voice claiming to be the IRS and it said they are suing me

I got a call from this number saying that I was being sued by the IRS.  There is absolutely no reason that the IRS would be suing me, and I am confident that I would get a letter in the mail regarding any possible problems rather than an automated call.

Just received the same phone call and yes the IRS would send out a letter instead of calling.

Same story as above. IRS is suing me - Which I find unlikely.. I mean, the IRS generally will make inquiries and ask for money before investing in a lawsuit against a person.. Unless you're named in a fraud case or something crazy. But I highly doubt the first hint that you'd have that there's trouble with the IRS is a telemarketer. I called back, got a guy that sounded half drunk who hung up on me when I asked who I was speaking with.

This call is a scam. The IRS always notifies in writing when there is an issue. I got a message from this number saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I called back and a man with a heavy accent answered, and told me I owed $5720 in taxes that were misfiled from 2009-2012. He said I could settle right then over the phone or the IRS would sue me for $70,000. I told him I needed something in writing and he said that I was accused of defrauding the IRS and they wouldn't put anything in writing for me, and pressured me again to pay him over the phone. I told him that I still needed to see what the IRS thought I had misfiled (I'm a tax preparer and know I don't have any mistakes), and the man became abusive, saying I had committed fraud and he was calling to have the local police arrest me right away, and that it would cost me $70,000 to get out of jail. I called the police and made a report, they are already aware of this scam. They told me that a lot of people in Austin are getting these calls. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY!!! THIS IS A SCAM!
