Fake spam call claiming to be from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration asking for money for unpaid taxes. Beware!

i received the same call. These guys are sitting in India and making these calls. I told them I am sending the cops to you, so just wait.

I got the same call &  claiming to be from  the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration asking for money for unpaid taxes..

Be careful, don't panic or give them any money.

Called our home said we are under federal investigation. Said his name is Officer Jason Harper. Told him I was recording his call and turning him into FBI. Asked him for his physical address as the division he said he was with does not exist. Told him this is a scam its all over the TV and news.
Asks if we filed our income tax return ourselves and that they had sent a letter to our address (which he didn't know-but easy enough to find out). Said we had not replied back.

People the government does NOT call you on the phone to tell you that you owe them money or that you are under investigation....The IRS or Treasury (where Jason was from) doesn't put you under investigation if you owe taxes....

Call came from "Officer Brad Lewis" from the Crime and Investigation Department.   He left a message on my answering machine.   I did not return the call.

Officer Jason Harper from the criminal investigation unit, investigating a crime at this address.  
Gives case number, phone number.
Requests a return call.
(Sounded intoxicated himself, barely able to understand).

Just got this same call. I'm guessing it's a hoax
