the call is iniciated by them and the phone will stay connected, tying up their end
which prevents them from using the line

Good intentioned, but I think you are wrong.  This only works so long, then their COMPUTER (because ALL these calls are Robodialed) will disconnect and they are free to bother as many people as before.

It is better to press 'ignore' on cell phones, if you can, or pick up and replace reciever on landline or press 'end call' on cell without saying anything.  This 'confuses' computer which doesn't know if the call was 'answered' or if it reached a non-working number.  More likely to get your number 'dropped' from the robodialed lists this way.

SPAM CALL; RECORDING offering 'lower interest rates''; looking for Credit Card NUMBERS in order to perpetrate FRAUD, ID THEFT.

Don't answer or pick up and hang up immediately to end call and 'confuse' the computer which won't know if it reached a non-working number or what!

BTW, 'Call type' below should offer a category of SPAM/SCAMMER because THAT'S what they are.

Called 3times. No one on other end. Too bad!  I was so up to telling them off!!!!  Now its from servicemsg.

They say they are "Card Services."  They have recovered caller-id information so they know your name and address when they call. I believe these are dangerous people looking to steal credit card number and PIN. They want you to call the credit card company to "Verify" your card, and they record your PIN in the process.

Fraud, scam.

They're not terrorists; most likely, they're republicans.

Do not answer this call.   It is a 100% scam and the guy that answers is beyond rude.   We had noted to stop calling 3x and also on do not call.  The little punk was told we are on do not call and he used every cuss word you can name.  

Depending on you phone company dial *60 then #01# to totally block this number.  Not sure if that works for all companies but is called call blocking.

yes, I get this call numerous times in a week and I don't even have a credit card!

List on caller id as Servicemsg.  Only partial message but something about reply before end of stymulus package.

I'm on DO NOT CALL LISTS.  I HAVE REPORTED THIS NUMBER AS A SPAMMER.

Wanted to reduce my credit card interest, told the girl "OH yea right I am going to give you my card number over the phone." She called me a stupid "B#@CH" then hung up.

These people keep calling with offers to lower my credit card rates.  I don't have any credit cards anymore.
I keep requesting they take me off their system, how do we stop these people?

I got the same call and the son of a [***] hung up on me as soon as I asked not to be called again.  It's a scam, obviously.

This schmuck that called told me of course that it was my last chance to lower my interest rates.  I told him that we are on the "Do Not Call list" and asked how we could get them to stop calling.  he told me that it would cost us $29.95.  I told him that he was nuts and that if he called here again I would ring his neck.
