This was a call saying I have an affidavit against me for tax fraud from the legal affairs of the US Department of Treasury, concerning a tax fraud on my name and she says what SOUNDS like this past month and month.  She has what sounds to be an Indian accent and is very difficult to understand.  She threatens me to not disregard this call, and to have my lawyer make the phone call back.  I know there is alot of frauds going on and something just does not feel right about this call.  Can anyone verify they have had the same calls?

Received a voicemail message from this number today.  She said " That this call is from legal affairs of the US Treasury (IRS). They've been trying to contact me for the past months... They have legal affidavit concerning attack/fraud on my name.
Urging not to disregard this massage and do return call onto this HOT Line No.: 202-436-9098.  If for any reason that i am busy not to call, I could have my Attorney to call the Hot line number.
If call is not return in a timely manner, it may turn out to be legal mess on me."

Sounds like fishing and scam.

I received the same message, so I called them back. They wanted to talk to my wife, and I asked them why. They said they couldn't give me any info because it was for my wife, and after I asked about their info, they paused for a shady amount of time and then proceeded to give me some bogus ID number with a bogus officer name and badge number. If you get a call from these idiots, give 'em hell for what they're doing. Since when did they move the department of treasury to India? I can't believe people can get away with this [***].

I got the same bogus call. Disgusting.

Man with Indian accent called asking for my wife, said it was a personal call and only would speak to her.  When I declined, he said he was a old HS friend of hers, but couldn't tell me what HS or year she graduated.  Waste of time and breath.

Got the same bogus call today.

I have had this very same call twice today about two hours apart. Exactly as yours.

Got this call.  Caller claiming to be the  IRS.  Claiming to have me arrested.  The IRS doesn't work this way.  They communicate through letters first.  They don't threaten.  Caller had an Indian accent and was very rude and obnoxious..

I got the same call this morning, This lady left a message in my machine. The US government has their proper ways of reaching people. Hiring an foreign person with heavy accent to call you  definitely is not one of them. I will ignore and report to IRS.

Got the same exact voice mail. This is so bogus!

Got the same message on a voice mail and when I called the man with an Indian accent starting asking for my name and phone number. I told him I would not give him any of my information because I believe this is a fraud of some kind and until I received an official letter from the IRS I would not be reacting to their call. He then became irritated and said well you will just have to take your chance in front of a Judge and Jury. I don't think that would be the reaction from an official of the IRS if I am indicating I believe this is a fraud.

Got the same woman, I think.  Indian accent, telling me I'm wanted for Tax fraud, she's from the Department of the Treasury, my lawyer can call them back, etc.  This was a message left on my answering machine.  After checking here, I won't return the call.  Wonder how they get your phone number?

Same call as others have reported.  Plus, they called me earlier in the day in person (not recorded) and tried to speak to me but the person who was on the phone could not even speak english.  I hope no one takes the bait on this one.  I have blocked the number on my cell.
