I just got a call from that lady to callm202-436-9757 .She then told me that the US Treasury had 7000 dollars for me because I paid my bills on time and had no criminal record. Is this a scam please?

I got a call, called them back, yada yada yada. Had me download a Sharing Software, the kind where you can control the other persons mouse and what not and then I had to go to WU to register to receive the money, they kept asking me to get a mctn by sending myself $1, WU tracking number system. And this just to receive the amount they wanted to "give" me. I kept asking why, "well the FBI needs to monitor your computer until you receive your money and then you can close the software." But I kept closing them out when I accessed any bank or personal information and they kept insisting. So I used a debit card that had basically no money on it to get this number I needed. and I kept asking why do I need a number for you to give me money shouldn't it be the other way around also letting them know I am aware of what kind of software they were using. So then I used a low limit CC that was almost run dry by myself but I just received a call from that CC asking about fraudulent charges, $325, $625 & $1000. The reason I did it this way was because I would notice that my mouse would move or something would click before I moved my mouse, very suspicious. So long story made short DO NOT CALL THEM BACK, IT'S A HUGE SCAM.

I got that call today. Thank god I didn't go through with it! How do I make sure they did not get my info though? They told me that I had to enter my social security number into this box and then I would get my money. They called on a restricted number. I think everyone should call them pranking over and over again to get at them. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!

Well my story is much the same as everyone's on here. Some lady called from a blocked number and who sounded Arabic or something of that nature said it was the US FEDERAL GRANT DEPARTMENT and I was entitled to receive just over $10,000 for whatever purpose. Also she said its free and that it wouldn't be taxed. She then gave me a call back number and and confirmation number to speak with here account supervisor. It sounded completely odd while she was talking like it was all wrote down to be read from a script. Long story short it's a HOAX!!! So if you recieve a call from them just hang up and save yourself the trouble.

got a call tonight from 38588127439 not even a real number saying I paid my bills, didn't have a criminal record and all I had to do was call 202-436-9757 to claim my $7200 gov. grant... funny, this lady sounded chinese telling me she was from the US gov!!!  I googled the number and found all this information saying it was a scam.  Do these people think I am dumb????

A woman, called herself Linda Miller called from unknown number saying she is from US Govt Federal Grants Department. She said that I am one of 2000 people chosen yearly for being good citizens paying taxes on time and having no criminal records to receive $10000 grant in next 24hrs, all I need to do was call 202-436-9757 and tell them the confidential code MA109, lol.. Googled this number and ofcourse it was a scam, so just to make fun of these guys I played along and called them up by hiding my caller id, I calmly kept providing them all fake personal details including different fake confidential code like FAF105, once they were into the flow I surprisingly told them that just for their information the call was being tapped by law enforcement(which really wasn't :) lol) and thats just to protect me just in case.. boy that scared the day lights out of them, there was absolute silence on the other end for few mins followed by frustrated blabber and call being disconnected.. Guys be aware of these crooks, don't fall for them but I guess best way of paying them back would be to return the prank which they try to play and have fun in the process lol..
