The person left a voicemail about an IRS issue. Calling back, the person stated that if I wasn't compliant, I would be facing x number of years. They also stated that a court case was already in process and that there have been a few occasions where someone has already been by my house to try and reach me.

I got the same call. They don't claim to BE the IRS, but call themselves the "department "  and want me to call back "immediately discuss my case file."

    LMAO!!
I can't believe anyone would fall for this [***]. Even the message they leave sounds ridiculous. But, like PT Barnum said, there's one born every minute...

I receive calls almost everyday from this company stating they are from the IRS and that I am being taken to court. Knowing that I don't owe the IRS I keep asking for the name of the company and one person started saying the abc's...lol!

I did call back out of curiosity.  When I heard the voice-and it was a foreign voice- I figured it was some type of scam.  Also, since they don't leave any type of case# to reference, etc on the initial voicemail-  you can count on the fact its a scam.  I do need to take calls from the 202 area code though, because of my workplace.

Just received a call from this number and the voicemail was cut off so I called back and it was a foreign voice stating she was from the internal revenue service.  She asked for the phone number I was contacted on and then she stated my name and address. She gave me her name, Lisa, yeah right, then a batch ID and stated my 2009-2014 returns have been reviewed and they don't match what they have calculated so they are filing suit. She stated they will be by my house to confiscate my drivers license....I interrupted....hold on, hold on, what are you talking about...then she hung up.

This is exactly what happened to me. I pressed for a Supervisor and was put on hold. The name of the person was 'Alen Olive'. Not!

Got a call this morning saying that the "Internal Revenue Services" was filing a suit against me for tax evasion. I immediately dismissed it. The caller did not even know the correct name of the IRS (Internal Revenue Service), not "Services". I was contacted once by the real IRS many years ago regarding a tax audit, but they did that in writing, not in a phone-call. I think the IRS would rarely, if ever, file a suit against a taxpayer without first going through a tax audit with that person.

I called back just to f*** with the guy.  He told me he was from the IRS, I owed them $4900 and if I didn't settle it in 45 minutes the police would come and arrest me.  He told me to drive to my bank and he would give me instructions from there.  Male, Indian or Middle Eastern accent.  What a lame scam.

Voicemail indicated (in a terrible computer voice) that my SSN is being suspended and a lawsuit will be filed against me for suspicious activity.  I'm sure I'm supposed to call back and give them my SSN.  Not today, scammers!
