Well, my friend bought a novelty cell phone eraser.  It opened like a cell phone and had fake buttons and everything.  There was a number printed on the screen, so of course, being the curious teenagers that we were, we called it.  A foreign lady answered.  So we called again.  Same thing.  We called 5 times before our teacher decided to look up the number online.  It was the White House.  I don't know if it was on purpose or just a coincidence, but either way it was incredibly funny.

Hahaha!  I did that three times today...First time, this lady answered and I asked "Hello, can you cater my wedding?"  She said excuse me so i said "wait you dont just make cakes do you?"  and she said ma'am this is the white house so i hung up

The President's Oval Office number is the most secretive and secured line on the planet. There is NO way basic individuals would be able to just SPEAK to the President.

This number is probably used more for tours and other nessicary resources, like to help kids with school projects.

I happen to know the inside numbers of the White House, including the Oval Office, First Lady's Office, etc. Change the last 4 digits of that number (202-456-****) to their extension at the White House and wahmbang, done.

The extensions below are as follows:
1111 - Direct to Comment Line
1414 - Call Center / Hired Answering Service

This basically applies for all government offices with their own NAA(prefix) for their use.... Some have multiple NAA's for different locations and still use the same area code. For example, CIA has offices in DC, VA, MA, MY, and all over.. but most offices even the major ones at langley are on the 703 area code, and 482 NAA / prefix... like the switchboard 702-482-1100 and public affairs at ext 0623...

I hope this helps you understand a little bit more that your white house prank calls are useless on that number and the other numbers aren't as hidden / secret as you think... just have to call a few hundred numbers to find a working extension sometimes.. lol

I didn't get call from this number but I got e-mail that the president is going to send me ATM card with 6M$. They referred to this phone number if I have more question. Hahaha!!!! Can't believe that!!!

Hahahaha, I just got the SAME EXACT email u did today (1-25-2013), I just blocked it (got the email in my hotmail spam box) as it sounded like a scam to me. AS IF I would be getting money that easily!!!!!!!!!!

I must say reading some of these comments I think you guys must at least be kids, or in the group there with in ranger of 20s. Clearly, you must know that it's not very respectable to bother the White House, for there very busy. Furthermore, I must say that this is why America is falling, because we are, just calling with no points, or views. Yes it's are right to call the President, after all we are the one's who elect are leader's, but at least have a good reason, and don't just hang up. There are only few people who have the Presidents live line, and we are not going to just post it on here for someone to harass are Leader. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's fact that we must protect are leaders, and when you call support the President, after all he's human, and we as humans have a right to make a mistake, even the President. Anytime I am asked for a phone number I'm going to give out the number (202-456-1414).  Supposedly this is for the White House.  Lets see how long it takes for them to get serious about the Government do not call list.  That number and any other number listed to a government official.  I might as well have fun with those they just ignore the "Do Not Call" list.

At least try to get your spelling and grammar right before you post. For example, "are" should be "our" in the last few words of your last sentence.
