The caller reported that I had won over $450,000 in an insurance claim from the Lloyd's of London and that they were part of a US government agency handling this insurance settlement.

They called saying they were from the government and I had received approval for a grant of $8,400 from the government for being an upstanding citizen.

Caller: Alex Cooper

Received a call from someone claiming to be with the Dept. of Treasury and was told that I was awarded a Pell Grant for $8400. The caller was named "Alex Cooper" but his accent was of Indian or Middle Eastern decent, and to top it off I had to PAY $210 to receive this grant! This is obviously a scam.

I received a called from Taylor (202) 666-3431and she said that I was approved for a government grant for $8400. I had to call her supervisor Brad Johnson (202) 470-1406 to confirm my interest and to have the money deposited in my account. Where he informs me that I had to donate $215.00 to either the American Red Cross or a Cancer Treatment Center before I get the money deposit to my account.

I almost got scammed the man I talk to called from  2026663552 said that I was chosen for a government grant for 8400 and that the only way I could get the money was to call 2024701406 and that guy name was Brad Johnson he wanted me to wire him $211 through Western Union I told him ok. Then I called the dpt. Of treasury they told me it was a scam I called the man back that I was talking to that it was a scam and he said no it was not and hung up on me
