Received a call that I got awarded an $8400 grant that i did not have to pay back from a NY state bank. They want to know what you will use it for so that you wont "misuse it". Apparently you can only waste this money on school, bills, or a car for transportation. They ask for a card number to directly wire the money to you & say it will take 40-45 min before you can call a guy called David Johnson & give him your grant approval number.

Seems really fishy and not too professional, but then again most of the city employees aren't the nicest and tend to be a bit rude. When I asked how I got selected he said it was because I haven't been convicted, had severe debt, and paid my taxes/bills at "the right time".  

Aren't grants only given to students anyways?
My suggestion is dont go for it

I got the same call and they also want you to get a $230 voucher.

i have receive the same call , y they ask for money ,is it a spam ??? i want to believe in it but is not just possible ,when they ask for money like that

I have received.a same call saying Ihave been choosen out 150 ppl and Iget 8400 and don't have to pay back but it got a lil fishy wen said all Igotta do is send them 221 and Iget 8400     is this a scam and da man name is gray Taylor

I got the same call about a $8400 in grant money. Saying it would be on my debit card in 45 mins. All I had to do is call Gary Taylor & not waste the money on gambling or drugs. Sounds good but too good to be true. Smh

They calles me saying I won $8, 400. But I had to send 250 first.. guys name was Gary Taylor. . They asked for my bank Info and all. Scam I believe..
