Calls me saying IRS, they're talking criminal action?

Recorded message says" This is Internal Revenue Services" (plural), the reason of this call is to inform you IRS is filing lawsuits against you.  For information on this case file, call 202-476-0697

Yes, when I call Him back he asked for my credit card because I'm supposed to pay $500 TODAY otherwise the'll send the sheriff to arrest me 😳  Is this real? or what .....

It's fake the said the same thing to me don't fall for it

Received messages saying my husband is being sued by IRS.  I don't believe it, the IRS has always send us letters not calls when there is a problem.  It's a scam don't even return call.

I called this number 2 times the first time someone answered and said they were from the IRS.  He had a thick Indian accent.  I asked for someone else who I could understand.  He said something and hung up on me.  I called again and someone else answered again with a thick accent and he said it was a scam.  He said don't call here again or we will scam you.

I also received  this fraudulent recorded call.
I did not call back.
Everyone IRS contact you via written communication.

I called H&R Block and they told me that it's a scam

202-476-0697 left message, said to call back immediately.  Obviously a scam ... isn't there some way for our law enforcement to quickly track down and eliminate these malicious attempts to scam us?

I called them back and they said I had to pay 500 bucks right away or they were going to send the law for unpaid taxes.  I said hold on let me get you my Ex wife's credit card #:  I've not heard back since!  I wonder how far they got with it?

It's a scam you idiots!  The IRS NEVER EVER calls you, they always send written letters via the US mail.

I never give anyone any financial information over the phone especially if they originate the call!  Any number can be spoofed.  Even legit people!

Think people with the head on your shoulders not the one below your waist!!  A sucker is born every minute if you paid up!!

Got a similar call on answering machine today.  Called back 3x but no answer.  Watch out folks!

This is a scam, if you want to report to the IRS go to their website www.tigta.gov and you can report your incident. They will try to get you to give a credit card to bill your supposed back taxes to but don't do it!!

I have got the same call several times, I don't answer unknown #s they have left several messages stating that it was urgent that I call back because there is a pending lawsuit that will be filled by end of business day today. well today I called back bc I am tired of them calling me. The lady answered clearly was NOT from the United States, and she had a very THICK accent. she stated that she was with Internal Revenue Services criminal investigation unit, when I questioned her wait your with the IRS, and your saying with the CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION UNIT she hung up on me. hopefully this will keep them from calling me from now on. Not sure how they got my # to start off with but they call 2 -3 times DAILY!!!

Fraudulent IRS call

Just curious here, how many people here are AARP members?

My older sister gets these all the time and I told her to ignore them. I never got them until I became a member of AARP. Now I get the 3 or 4 times a day.

Wondering if they are getting names/numbers via AARP.
