I received a call from a 312 number that I was chosen for a $8,400 in grant from the government but I have to call (202) 499-1448.. I just decided to research the number just to realize is a scam.I wasn't told about any charges but I called my bank to alert me right away if any money was taken out of my account.

Call saying he was the IRS. Called at 2:48pm Cali time, I guess the IRS is paying over time, I started laughing because I know about this SCAM. People please tell your elders the IRS sends  letters, they do not call over the phone. Please tell these people that they will go to jail if their caught and they should find a better employer. The guy told me he loved me and asked if I would marry him. LMAO!!!!!!!

Received a call this morning 10:56am (EDT) from "Mr. Smith" of the "IRS".  Mr. Smith began to question me about my '08 through '20 taxes and that I made a mistake. I suggested that perhaps the IRS was getting ahead of itself as we just filed our '14 taxes. Mr. Smith immediately became annoyed with me and said he meant '08 through '13.  As a side note, I could barely understand Mr Smith as he had a very thick foreign accent.

Mr. Smith continued further by suggesting that I had made a mistake on my W4 form and that I would have to pay (could not understand what he was saying) so I asked if he meant a W2 form at which point he became very upset with me and began cursing (at least it sounded like cursing) and then hung up.

I was fascinated by the call as I assumed that the real IRS would advise by mail if there was a problem, so I decided to call the number that appeared on my caller ID.  To my amazement, they actually answered the phone "Internal Revenue Service". I asked to speak with Mr Smith but the person answering the call (also with a very thick accent) said she could not connect me with Mr Smith but wanted to take my information(?). I asked to speak with a manager at which point she made some comment under her breath and hung up.

The real IRS has a department to report Imposter Scams to let's hope that ends this episode.

Don't fall for this scam.

Caller with thick accent states he is john martin with the IRS. Just hang up.

Got a computerized voice message threatening a lawsiuit - called back and reached the "us treasury" . Hew asked who i was and i isaid  i was "smarter than him. Asked for his badge number and then hing up

Received call this morning at 9:20 am eastern, caller ID says from Washington, DC. Did not answer so a recorded female voice left vm which said either I or my attorney of record better call back immediately or else. And she would wish me luck in what was to unfold to me! Of course this is a scam and I did not call back. I blocked the number.

Got a recorded message from the IRS, telling me that my attorney on record needs to call them.  And if we don't, then "good luck for what will unfold on you".....laughing my ass off ......

I received message from 202-499-1448 old lady said you have a criminal lawsuit ... and good luck and I cannot call back .look like this is cheating call.
