Have called me with  messages that I am getting a $2,000 refund from the IRS--and as soon as I call and verify credentials I will receive it.  When I call back--there is no answer.---Faud, Fraud, Fraud

Received a call from this group yesterday!  VERY suspicious as they "claim" to be the IRS - except he kept saying "Internal Revenue Services" - as in PLURAL Services...  LOL

I have a $2000+ refund coming and ALL I have to do is verify some information and then pay a FINE of $100+...  Hmmm - Usually the IRS does THAT math for us, do they not???  When I questioned that fact, he hung up on me!  Scary part?  He read off my SSN AND my checking account number - I have NEVER used my checking account number online for ANYTHING!!!

Caller stated that I was entitled to a refund from the IRS, and further stated that there was a penalty amount associated with filing an incorrect return. That penalty needed to be submitted via a Green Dot MoneyPak at a 7/11, K-Mart, or CVS location from the sales clerk, and must be received prior to refund amount. Caller stated that refund check could be sent electronically to bank account or shipped via FedEx. I requested that check be shipped to address on file. Caller stated again that penalty must be received today, or refund is nullified. I asked if this was legitimate, and requested his supervisor. The caller hung up upon this request.

Had a voicemail from this number claiming to be the IRS and that I had a refund owed to me but that I had to verify my credentials. I didn't call back. Seems like a scam.
