These people will not stop calling.

There was someone that called me 2day and said that they worked in New York and they asked me has anyone ever scammed me out of money and I told they yes 2 years ago. They said that they wanted to transfer $599 into my bank account. So I told them that I would look up there company on the internet to see what they were all about. Then they said that they would call me back tomorrow.So I knew that they were liars and scammers so I hung up on those idiots

They keep calling me and say theres a lawsuit filed against me for a loan I took out, I never took out a loan!

Co called while I was out, did not leave message.  Research of this numbers reveals this may be a scam.

How can I stop these calls? We are called daily on numerous occassions and at late hours of the night. The message is always political in nature but we have refused to answer the last 15 calls but the continue to call. This is really a pain to deal with every day.

A suggestion:  when you get a call from octothorpe (202-540-5120), file a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry, the FCC (https://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm) and any other place you can think of.

This number continues to call day and night and when answered no one is ever on the line...  Please stop them!

Put them on the "DO NHOT CALL"  list.

receiving quite a few of these Octothorpe calls since the first of July.  They are being recorded in my Uverse phone logs, but I am not answering.  Probably as the other callers here stated just another phone slam scam.

Have had a couple calls from this number.  We don't answer unknown calls.  Just checking for info on the caller...

A man with an Ethiopian accent says he's with the FBI in New York and want to pay out money lost in scams.  He claims a settlement was reached and a Judge has released the funds, held by Price Waterhouse.  To get my settlement money all I have to do is pay the legal and processing fees.  No way will I do that!  This is part of a larger group and they need to be brought down.  He had info on me from somewhere.

This man calls my job but iam off work and said he was from the department of justice and that i had a security alert attatched to my name.  My supervisor called me at home without giving them any information an said the give away was the african voice with an american name.  i looked the numbers up first.  They are bill collectors scamers etc.  my account number was used some weeks pior to this and also some people i know too.  becareful.

what's with these guys? They wanted to verify my address..should I be concerned?

Have rec'd at least 2 "hang up" calls from this phone number on my cell.  Google says the call is coming from Washington D.C.  After reading the above (and seeing Cairo, Egypt associated w/number) I will allow the phone to go thru to voice mail.

May I add you have given them permission to call you IF YOU CALL THEM BACK and your # is on the do not call list.

Says it comes from Octothorpe and I don't answer unknown numbers. But after reading the posts then I will call Gov-DNC and notify them. Obviously scammers and a lot to be concerned with. Be smart-give them NO information!
