Received a call from this number today at 4:18 pm. The Caller ID said Dir Assist, DC, so out of curiosity, I answered. I could barely understand the heavily accented gentleman who spoke, but it sounded like a call center. He asked if I had a computer, then tried to tell me my computer was sending them some sort of constant error message that said I had a malicious virus, or something to that effect. I told him I didn't call anyone, and he said my computer notified them, and that this was very serious. He wanted me to go to my computer. I told him my computer had been off for days. He then asked if I had a cell phone, and wanted the number. I hung up. I tried to call the number back, and a recording said it could not be completed because, calls to that number are not permitted. Really? I wonder why? This obviously is a scam. :{ I hope no-one falls for it.

CALL SAYING IT'S FROM EGYPT. Has called at least 10 times within the last couple days.  Why they need to get a hold of me so badly, I don't know.  I refuse to answer, and I even blocked the number.  Stay on the look out!

Getting calls multiple times per day for weeks. No caller ID. Can not call the number back.

I have received numerous calls from this number and the same gentlemen stating that they are with the US Department of Education and I have student loan forgiveness. Then wanted me to go to google and register myself on some site. Told him that I did not have access at the moment (lied obviously) and he was so persistent asking if he had permission to do it for me. He asked for my SSN and i refused. I asked for him to give me the information so that I can register at a later time and he refused. Asking when can he call me back at a later time. I finally hung up on him because he would not give me any further info.

Same here!!! I told him to email his contact info and I would call them back...he said that he could not do that.... insisted that I had to discuss this with him because I owe the government money for student loans.....said I couldn't just ask them to stop calling!
