- Mostrain replies to mikeThe guy with a foreign accent said he was from the DOJ. Said his name was Dominick Williams. Asked for a return call. Fat chance.
- Sadi JI got the same message from Dominick Williams (with a very thick accent) saying he was from the Dept. of Justice and I'd won $750,000 and it was stuck in customs at JFK in New York. He asked me if I wanted it ... I hung up.

- RiverRatGuy called my fatherlaw who has my wife's old phone asking for her and why. My wife called Mr Williams. She said there was some automated stuff but couldn't really hear it so she waited on the line and behold he answered. He told her she had won 2nd prize in the publishing clearing house of 750000 and to call William Johnson at 718-878-5629. I looked up both numbers and found many post about different scams using these numbers.

got the same message from Dominick Williams (with a very thick accent) saying he was from the Dept. of Justice and I'd won $750,000 and it was stuck in customs at JFK in New York. He asked me if I wanted it he told me I had to pay $3000 plus to the Ny customs in order to get my prize. I told him to Deduct the fee and send me the rest. I knew it was a Scam. I hung up on him. - Syl WAlso recieved call frm Dominic Williams saying I had not claimed my 750,000.00 and needed to call William Johnson @ 718 878 5629. Represented himself as Dep. of Just. agent. I call local DOJ and they said it was probably scam.Checked this site & found others faced the same thing. DID NOT CALL MR JOHNSON. !!!!!
- sandra MI just paid a lawyer to investigate the call.... i guess i should have look here first, before spending money ! Better be safe than sorry i guess ! Dominic Williams never said that i won anything but when the lawyer called him, he said that he could not talk and he had to go when he actually seemed really at ease and available a second before! Yeah right !!! Some people are just loosers. I hope he'll get his lesson ! And if he is making money with the innocents, may it all end up going for fair and just causes !!! thanks everyone for leaving your messages here ! Hopefully the lawyer call is scaring him. Who knows, we might keep investigating !

- kathy salazarMessage left from Dominic Dept of Justice to call him. Tired of all these loosers trying to scam the American people. Maybe the FBI needs to investigate more and th ephone companies should restrict their access.

- vagirlReceived the same call from Dominic Williams...again thick accent, claiming to be with the Department of Justice (btw it is a violation of federal law to pose as a member of the federal government when you are not) so checked out the number. The number is a land line, not a cell, as some have suggested. If you try to return the call to that number it doesn't answer and goes straight to voicemail.

- Karin replies to mikeI received a call from 202-558-4587 showing a District of Columbia number. He had a heavy
maybe Eastern Indian accent and told me he was from the Department of Justice and that
I there was a sweepstakes for 750,000.00 . I told him I couldn't understand him and he
said he would transfer me to his coworker. When he did another man with a similar accent
asked me my name. I did not give it. I told him that I was transfered to him and wondered
why the department of justice was dealing in sweepstakes. He told me that it was the fraud
department and wanted to know my name. I told him I was not giving out any info and I
didn't believe that it was the department of justice. I called the number back and the same
first man answered wanted to know my name. I didn't give it and he responded to my suspcion inquiries with ...that he had made a few phone calls and
stated that he was in the fraud department. I told him that I have received no sweepstakes notifications and that I didn't believe that this was the DOJ. He asked Why don't you believe this and
wanted to know my name. Didn't give it and ended the call. - HalJust got a report of the same scam. Thanks for posting about it so everyone has a chance to be warned.
What Can You Do To Fight This and Other Phone Scams? Get signed up with the National Do Not Call Registry. Then when you get unwanted calls like this you can report them to 1-888-382-1222. I have been doing this for 2-3 years now and I can tell you for sure that it works. It may take a few months, but these scammers and phone spammers get shut down if enough people complain. It really does work.
