someone calls saying they are from irs ....

I also recieved a call from this number. I left a msge but no one has called me back.

IT IS A SCAM. Other numbers associated with these scammers are 3475590378, 2028034807, 2028034758, 2028034758.
If you ever get a call from any of these numbers or a message was left for you to call any of these numbers, PLEASE PLEASE call TREASURY INSPECTOR GENERAL at 8003664484 option 5 and leave a voice mail. They seem to be targeting people of Indian origin. Several of my friends have received these calls. I received 2 calls yesterday. The caller ID shows the number 8008291040 which is a legitimate IRS number. The scammers have spoofed it. REMEMBER, IRS will never call you even if you owe taxes. They always send mail. These scammers appear to be of Indian and Southeast Asia origin. The accents are obvious. Everyone needs to report this.

They left me a voice mail and asked me call 2025584618. The caller ID showed 8008291040.  Claimed the issue is time sensitive. Before IRS takes legal action against you or your SS#, return the call. I KNEW ABOUT THIS SCAM. I called anyway.
The recording says:" Thank you for calling IRS Criminal Investigation Division. All officers are busy now, Pl leave us your name & last 4 of your social & best contact number to reach you & your concerned case officer will get back to you as soon as possible." NEVER EVER LEAVE THEM your SS# . Even the last 4 digits. That is what the scammers are trying to get.

Please do take the time to call the Treasury Inspector General and report this 8003664484 option 5. Leave them a voice mail & your name and phone number. If everyone reports this, they will do something about it.
