They left a message that there is a tax problem and to call # to speak to supervisor. I did, just to find out what was going on. I gave him my name, but nothing else. He asked if I had heard from the police about "my problem". No. Asked if I wanted to hear it from him or from the police. I said the police. He never said what the problem was, and hung up.  Scam????

Do not answer. Said police was coming to get me because of taxes.

I received the same VM, stating that I had a fraud problem with my taxes.  Did not call back, I figure the IRS knows where to find me if there is a problem.

I received this call too. I would not give the gentleman from India my personal information and stated i would call my local police dept. I contacted the Ft Pierce police and they told me it was a scam to get your banking information//

The call stated that I had a fraud problem with my taxes and it could result in federal charges. And gave me a number but they never answered just kept hanging up. #Scam!

Got a voice message from person claiming to be the IRS. Responded to call but refused to give my name. The person I spoke with refused to answer my questions. Finally he gave me his name. Doubt it was the IRS. They notify people via mail, not personal phone calls on a Saturday yet.

Same thing happen to me.  And I started asking them questions and they hung up! Called them back and asked them how their scam is working for them and they hung up on me!!!! Who can this be reported to!

Same here, I was reading the post while they were leaving message. Same message as I expected. LOL

I was foolish enough to fall for it because of a previous Identity Theft situation, I decided to proceed with their request to not get "arrested" and to satisfy this issue since my case is still pending. I paid $1,000 through iTunes gift cards using cash. I found out it was a fraud after it was too late. Don't let these Indian bullies get you.

I am going on vacation soon and need some extra cash, so can you please print your phone number as you seem quite willing to donate to strangers who call.

They just tried me but they had no information to feed me back. I was nervous a moment until he said do you want to handle this in or out of court lol.

They tried the same crap with me. I won't answer these strange numbers, just let my VM get them, then I look up the numbers. It's all a scam, so people don't answer them and block them. All they are is idiots.

Fraud and misconduct on my tax return - scam!

Message said" problem with taxes, something about an audit". Did not call them back, figured it was a scam .

Received a voicemail on 05/20/2016 from this number. The voicemail stated "The issue on hand is extremely time sensitive and urgent as after audit we found that there is fraud and misconduct on your tax file which needs to be rectified immediately. So do return the call as you see this message on direct division line to my senior 202-602-0048, I repeat 202-602-0048." Thought it was pretty odd so I went online and found this forum. I won't be returning this call as it's obviously a scam. If there was an issue I feel pretty confident the IRS wouldn't leave a pre-recorded message.

The IRS wil NEVER attempt to notify anyone by phone. I got the call today and called back just to have a little fun with them. I pretented to fall for the scam and bagged them not to arrest me. I had them on speaker phone while my friends listened in the background. I then started to cry out loud until my friends couldn't hold thier laughter anymore and when the scammer heard them, he hung up.

Just received "the call".  They left the same alarming and threatening voice mail the others have reported.  Was taken back at 1st because of Wash DC area code, but then common sense took over, thank goodness.  I'm in Port St Lucie FL.
