A woman called saying she belongs to the federal dapartment and that I was randonly selected to receive $7.800,00 from the governament and the only thing I had to do was go to a Western Union and make a security deposit for them ($200.00) and I would get the $7.800.00.
First of all they called from a payphone, I saw it on my caller ID.
Second: Why would I deposit money for them if I supose to get money..
I just told the woman on the phone that it was a scam and hung up.

It is deffinatly a scam.  I received the same phone callabout 20 min ago so I called the number that showed up on my caller I'd and that number is 607-363-9777, and it was a woman who sound the same and she answered the pay phone and hung up. So I called the 202 number that the lady Karen called me from and told her that she just tried running this same scan on someone else and I am reporting her! She hung up.

i keep get a call from this number saying i qualify for a government grant in the amount of 7,800.00 and i can pick it up at a western union near me and that i needed to have a security deposit of 200.00....if its truly free government money then why do i have paid a security deposit up front...she told me i would get the security deposit right back...its needed to confirm who i am...she said the address was: 200 independence avenue washington, d.c. 20210....website: www.grant.com

They called and told me if i deposited 200 ti a western union i would be able to recieve a grant of 7800 dollars in my hand. Man its a scam the punks got me for 780 dollars but im not worried about the money i just want them caught. And they are very racist too.

damm they got me to they called me saying that i was picked for a goverment grant for 7,800 and all i had to do is go to a western union and send them 200 dollors  i did and then they tried and tell me that i needed to pay a tax of for 975 dollors  and  then when i said i had no more money left  they said i can pay half but  they hung up and said they would call me back and never did and all  the numbers they gave me where disconected grrrrrrr i want my 210 back  they left me broke  i hate my life i hope they get caught this is rediculous

They just did it to me also!!! SCAM!!

People need to watch out fro this low scam criminals.  They tried to cheat my friend also.  Please do not be a victim.  We need to inform the FBI as soon as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got a call from the same 607-363-9777 it said payphone on my phone they had asked for me by name something about government grant or something sounded like an older lady I told her she had the wrong number.

Funny they have now added an extra 50 dollars - got the call a few minutes ago

I too got this same phone call two days ago. The woman said that I needed to make a security deposit of 290.00 for 7500.00 free grant monies from the government. Something really needs to be done with these criminals.
