I received a call from a gentleman from India most likely saying i had been selected to receive 7000 dollars in a federal grant based on a demographical study of my area along with 1500 other people. All i had to do was call (202)621-0436 with my approval id # KI214 and speak to the manager. at that point the manager would walk me through the process and even stay on the line with me until i received the grant plus the 250 processing fee that they wanted me to pay through western union and that the whole process would only take 10 minutes.

I also received a call from the "Federal Grant Office" lol  saying that a demographic study had been done and that I was to receive $7000.00, all  had to do was call 202-621-0436 with grant authorization no. WZ104 and I would be told how to recieve the money.  Of course I had to pay $250.00 transition fee.  At that point I hung up.

Same exact # and info was given they even use www.grants.gov as there reference

what do i do to help get rid of these scammers

Yea the lady called me for the 202-621-0436 number talking about I had to call her mgr to receive the $$ since I had no criminal history and I paid my bills on time. However she knew alot of my personal information which was how they bait you in. She called from a 0000000000 number at 2:31 7/24/2012. I gave her a fraud account that had been overdrawn and closed, jokes on her!

Yeah this has to be a scam! They called me twice and gave me two different confirmation numbers they only had my address and name they don't have my ss# or anything like that. They haven't asled me for money yet but the told I can recieve $7,000 because I paid my taxes on time and wasn't a criminal.

Same deal. I had my bills paid off.  I quess its better to stick to the old month to month.

got this call the 2nd time now, 1st was 2 weeks ago I told the lady that I don't believe it so she told me to go investigate it , so I went online I saw all these comments from every body. 2nd got it again today 8/18 and it the same 7,000.00 grant , wow I really need this kind of money but too scare, but then again they need 250.00 to deposit like every body else but since I don't have it they say its the only way to get the money.

If they give u this # to call for a government grant they are scamers names. They will give you are. Marc Cooper-Henry Smith- kevin parker or sandi hererai got scamed they had their fun with me

I received a call from a woman who called from number 000-000-0000 saying i had been chosen to receive a Tax Refund from the U,S.Government in the amount of $7,000.  I was given a code number of NA205Q to give to the Manager that I could reach at 1-202-621-0436.  I asked  to speak with her manager and I was connected to Matthew Rozer who said he was her manager. I asked him what I should do to get  the $7,000 and he said I had to call the 202-621-436 number and speak with her manager, I asked if he was indeed her manager and he replied he was, so I said why should I call the other number when I was speaking with her manager now, he told me to call the other number and he would talk to me.  I kept saying, I'm already talking with you.

I knew something wasn't right so I looked up the number I was suppose to call in the Reverse Phone Directory and found 61 complaints so I didn't bother to call the number.

Called me @ 3:45PM to tell me that I won a $7,000.00 grant from the Federal Government because I have been a good citizen.

Just got a call from "Katherine Hill" from the U. S. Government Grant Office saying that I have been a good citizen, and the Government has randomly selected me to receive $7,000 in Government Grant money.  She gave me an approval number of KT107 and told me to call 202-621-0436 to learn how to receive my money.  For sh*ts and giggles, I called the number and some guy that could barely speak English started giving me this line of bs.  I told him I wanted to receive the funds by check.  Of course he said that can't do that.  He needed my bank account number he can send it via WU.  

I then interrupted him and said, "Let me guess, you want me to give you $250 now, so you can send me the money via WU".  He started getting real pissy with me.  Now I really only understood about every 3-4 words he was saying, but I know he was pretty frustrated with me.  I told him I wasn't going to give my my bank account number and I wasn't going to give him $250 to wire the money to me.   Now he really started rambling.  I told him I couldn't understand a word he was saying and asked him to speak English.

I told him to just send me a check from the U. S. Treasury.  That's how the U. S. Government sends money.  He told me to shut up!!!  lol!!!  I asked to speak with his supervisor, and he disconnected the line.  Darn... missed out on $7 grand!

Thank God for GOOGLE....   Thanks for all of your comments and input.....  People please listen up.. Never ever ever ever  give your bank info to a stranger over the phone..   I know these predators make it so hard to resist,  Imagine that  $7000.00 handed to you just like that!!!!   I also got this call, but again   Thank God for Google and the many comments that give all of us a heads up to avoid being ripped off.... May they all pay dearly for their deceptions

Same deal here...CONFIRMATION # GA101  with a $270.00 transfer fee.  As I was on hold, I googled...As I was talking to the STRONG ACCENTED guy, he told me "I hadda his worda....& he no maka me no trouble"....I told him that I had other people doing the same thing & had their $ stolen.  He told me..."quit barking at him?"???hahhahaa    Iffa your notta interested, don'ta waste my time!   IT IS A CRYING SHAME TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF VULNERABLE SINGLE MOMS LIKE MYSELF & TO TAKE FOOD OUT OF MY CHILDREN'S MOUTH!!!   I DID communicate this to him to see what he would say...he hunga uppa on me!   What an ass!
