Franklin Benjamin just called me and said police are on the way to arrest me for what I've done. I said I know this is a scam do not call again. They called my work!!! He hung up on me soon as I said scam!!

John Martinez (with an Indian accent ... and admittedly a native of India) called to tell me I had an unpaid payday loan. He said he was with the dispute resolution department. I advised him that I have no unpaid payday loans, and asked for the name and address of his company. He said something about DRNC in Washington DC.  I laughed at him. When he asked why I was laughing, I told him that I thought it was odd that he had an Indian accent and a Spanish name, and that he was refusing to give me the address of his business. He said he admitted to being from India. I asked if he was calling from India, and he told me that he thought I was thihnking he was, but that he was really calling from Washington DC.  He did not give me their address and he hung up. When I called back, some woman answered (Also with an Indian accent)  and I asked what her company name and address were. She also told me that she was with a dispute resolution department. I told her that if it was a legitimate issue, that her company would know they are legally required to identify themselves. She told me to shut up and hung up on me as well. When I got to my computer and could research the phone number, all I found was scam reports on google. I could nit find any legitmate debt collector or payday loan in Washington DC, by the name the first guy gave me.

I did call them back one more time and let them know that I was filing a fraud report with the FBI. He didn't seem concerned and said that my family was going to jail. *Laughable.* These people think that we are all stupid. Anyway... don't fall for it. These people are crooks just trying to extort money out of people by threatening them with legal action, and police action.

They called me as well, saying I was in trouble, that he was an attorney and he could help me in this matter. Someone was supposedly using my SSN illegally and he could help. When I told him I thought this was a scam he said F***k you twice to me and hung up!

Soon as I started asking questions, they kept hanging up on me. When I finally got through to them again, and told the guy I thought this was a scam, he became irate and told me F you twice and hung up. Now each time I call, they just hang up on me.

Hi Tammie...you are correct....Mr. Martinez called me also....he first began calling from "I think" a 361 area code.....he called me back to back leaving long detailed messages.  I called the # back and told him that I was going to have my attorney call his office.  I asked for the address and name of the company his reply was "[***] YOU"!!!!!  and he hung up.  I called the number back several times and each time they hung up....they later began calling me from a 202 # with the same mess.....I did the same thing you did...let them know that I knew my rights and they needed to hand up and stop calling me.....He even called my job....uhhhhh!!!!  You are correct...don't let them push you around...stand your grounds and know your rights...even if it's a debt being collected...it is illegal to harrass you....

A man with (Indian accent) named Mr. Martinez called me ..the calls have been going on for weeks now......he first began calling from "I think" a 361 area code.....he called me back to back leaving long detailed messages...saying that there was a warrant for my arrest and that I needed to call them immediately.  I called the # back and told him that he was harrassing me and asked if he could stop calling....I told him that I had legal representation and that I was going to have my attorney call his office.  I asked for the address and name of the company ...he started shouting...saying "are you threatening me..and then his reply was "F*&^%K YOU"!!!!!  and he hung up.  I called the number back several times and each time they hung up....they later began calling me from a 202 # with the same mess.....I did the same thing ..let them know that I knew my rights and they needed to hand up and stop calling me.....He even called my job....uhhhhh!!!! ..I told my job to let him know that he shouldn't be calling there for me again.  ...

they called me today. a lady with an indian accent. seems like a liget scam. can you please let me know what have others have done to resolove this problem.? they too said my social security was under investigation. she said her name is Brenda.

yes , they have called me also threatening and saying that someone is using my social security number ??? sorry sounded a little flakey to me especially when they left a VM without identifying thier company , i would never take that kind of call seriously. I am not calling back after reading the comments on this site . Thank you all for the feedback.

i would just ignore or block the calls from your phone  , they are no concern to you. Dont lose any sleep on it .

So what happened as a result ? did they continue to call you ?

They called me. I got a female who I could not understand and told me my ssn was under investigation. Left VM without identifying who the company was. Ignored! !
