    Good taxes
Just got a call from this number.   Left a message saying I have an affidavit for tax fraud. I called back and listen to what they had to say.   Did a real time look up for tax irs pay by money order or visa card.   It is a scam.   They were asking for me to give a promissory amount on a throw away visa card.

I just received a call from this number at 7:53a.m. on October 30, 2015.  I could tell by the accent of the man that he was from the Middle East ([***]).  He said he was calling from the IRS Audit Dept. I asked why he would be calling me and he became very rude and hung up.  So, I decided to call right back (as being from a call center even if it was for real, I would get a different person on the phone) and the same man answered the phone, I asked again who he was and why he was calling.  He told me to "[***] off"!  I knew as soon as I heard his voice the first time when he called it could not be for real as the IRS would never conduct that way, it would not be a [***] calling from the IRS and they would never hang up on you.  He then called me again and was obscene and I hung up.  How come the phone companies can't stop these calls from getting through to the public?  In this day and age of technology there is a way to control fraud calls, phising, etc.  WE NEED TO GET A HANDLE ON THIS TYPE OF SCAMMING AND PROTECT OUR PEOPLE.  THEY ARE TARGETING MOSTLY OLDER PEOPLE, SUCH AS MYSELF.  DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AND NOW!!!

I received a voicemail on my cell phone at 7:53 a.m. Monday morning saying the IRS tax fraud division was calling and I was accused of tax fraud and needed to call back to discuss it. I returned the call, could tell the person (with a heavy accent) was on a cell phone, and in a room with several other people on phones. He asked my name and then asked by date of birth. I told him I would not provide this information via the telephone, but would happily respond to correspondence. He said he already had my date of birth and that he was just verifying it. I asked him to tell ME what my DOB was and I would confirm or deny. He got really huffy, told me the accusation of fraud would be filed and I would be notified via mail in 4-6 weeks as to what I needed to do unless I wanted to take care of it at that moment on the phone. Ha! No way.

Evie-You want my info? No way. replies to ALmost got scammed
Good on you! This is REALLY bad - I know I don't have any IRS issues, but the idea of court/jail/IRS woes is worrisome enough to make many cough up personal info. I would not give him anything and he threatened me, saying I would be taken to court in 4-6 weeks. Scum AND Scam.
