- ThinkAboutIt replies to Lana Jean Fretwell| 4 repliesLana, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but you've been scammed. The ”loan officer” never had money to lend you, he was using an imaginary loan as bait to fool you into sending him your money and details. He will demand payment from you for one excuse after another and never send you the money you wanted to borrow. He asked you to send it by Ukash because once he receives it, it is untraceable and you can't get a refund. This is known as the Nigerian 419 loan scam.
Because he asked you for your details, he can steal your identity, so you will have to inform the authorities, the credit reporting agencies, your bank and credit card companies. - ThinkAboutIt replies to ThinkAboutItSorry, just some clarification here...it doesn't matter which kind of cash offer the scammer uses, whether it is a lottery prize, loan or a grant-the result is the same-you get robbed, while he gets rich on your money.
- Not getting scammedSome piece of [***] that doesn't speak English well. Surprise!!!!!!!!! Let them in Obama and cost true Americans to be screwed so they don't need jobs. Please allow more non americans to scam the American people. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

- Carol replies to Lana Jean FretwellI just got a call too, it is a SCAM do not send your money and do not give them your information because if they have your account info they can draft money out of your account. Even if you say you want the check version, the second you deposit it, it will probably bounce or is counterfeit. Don't fall for these calls from the Dominican Republic. I hope you all are safe and tell them to stop calling, as they prey on people who are in need of money. Remember no one gives away free money EVER!
- IT'S A SCAMDo not call this number as these are out of the country SCAMS to get us to send money to get money that you will never receive. PLEASE BE SAFE AND DON'T FALL FOR THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE'S LIES ON UNSUSPECTING INNOCENT PEOPLE WHO NEED MONEY.

- SherrieD| 2 repliesA man named Marcus from the Grants Department just called from an unknown number saying I'm the only one today to receive this grant money. I have to use it for my house or whatever as long as it's not for drugs, alcohol etc. I asked them to send me a check and they said that it has to be bank to bank only or Western Union. They gave me a number to call 202-657-5855 and talk to David Manson with my approval # MN745. Government money you don't have to pay taxes on or repay??? hmmmm I smell a scam!!! I'm thinking about calling them and just playing with the heads a little.

- Sherrie D replies to SherrieDSo now I get a call back from them again saying they want me to send them $200 to hold the grant money. I told them no and that I do not have that money and to take my name and number off of their list. They said in order for me to be canceled, I would have to pay them a $200 cancelation fee. BAHAHAHAHAHA. I told him I'm not and he said the lawyers will be contacting me and I will NEVER receive help from the government again for benefits, food stamps etc. All I can say is WHATEVER... YOU'RE NOT GETTING MY MONEY STUPID SCAM ARTISTS THAT CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH VERY WELL!!!! UGH

- Ana Jones replies to ThinkAboutItYes Lana, it is true!!! I just received the same call 5 minutes ago from a loan officer who said I was pre-selected to receive $7,849.00. He gave me some phony contact information for a Eric Jones and I called the number from my work phone (which just happens to be a government agency). And it sound like the same man I just hung up with when he answered. He tried telling me the same thing about the grant; so I told him I don't give my bank information to anyone. If the government is giving me a grant he should mail to the same address he mailed my tax return. So the guy says he can mail a check to me for a check fee of $250.00. I said well deduct it from the amount you are sending me. He said without that payment we can not release your money. I told him well then it wasn't really mine now was it.. and I began to hang up as I heard him answering another call saying "yes this is Jason." I mean really people come on its 2015, if the government wants to find you to take money they will; so don't you think they will do the same to give you money. There are no pre-selection processes for these types of things. Lana, I'm so sorry that this happened to you, and believe me I whole-heartedly understand why this would peek your interest, but you had $450 to give these people, you were already richer then those on the other line trying to deceive others for money. Good luck and bless you and your kind-trusting heart.
- SallyI just received a call as well , but I'm getting a grant and he don't speak English , poor dude,
