- VickiReceived a call from a male with a very heavy accent. Told me he was with the United States Federal Grant Department and I was chosen to receive a grant of (garbled) thousand Dollars. I never have to pay it back and I never have to pay taxes on it. I am eligible for this because I paid my bills on time and had no bankruptcy for the past 6 months, I was a friend of the state. I said what is the catch he said I could receive my money if I sleep with him for one night. Then he hung up.

- BadWolf| 1 replyI have received many calls from this number and a few blocked ones all saying the same thing. I have been chosen to receive some grant from the US treasury. SCAM. I told the stupid Mexican on the other end of the phone if I didn't have to give any of my information to him that I'd be happy to receive a check in the mail. (Which is what the treasury would actually do.) He replied with a spew of profanity in more than one language and hung up the phone. I enjoy talking to these idiots honestly. It's entertaining.

- MirandaJust got this call today from a male with a very heavy accent. Told me he was with the United States Federal Grant Department and I was chosen to receive a grant seven thousand Dollars. I never have to pay it back and I never have to pay taxes on it. I am eligible for this because I paid my bills on time which I know wasn't true because I had been late a couple times with my student loans due to moving and them not knowing my new address. I was a friend of the state. I said what is the catch he said I could receive my money as long as I give them my address. I said no I'm not if you work for the government you should know it. he did know my first and last name, my state, city, and zip of where I live just not the address. i said So go look it up I'll wait on hold while you do. He then continued to argue with me for a long time, but eventually said fine I'll have to put you on hold I said that's fine and then hung up on me. THANK GOODNESS!! I was not about to give him my address.

- Daniel| 1 replySome man, who sounded like they either spoke Indian, Arabic, or some Latino language for a first language and American English at a far third told me that he was calling me from Washington D.C. He said he was with the currency department? At least that's what I think he said. He claimed that the government was supposed to give me money or something, and he knew my area code, and my city. He also knew my full name. He told me he was calling on behalf of a main office in D.C., but that he, himself, was calling from Los Angeles.
I don't know who this man is, but he has called my house before, last time he called my mother and claimed that he was with the IRS. He even threatened to send someone out to us to try to pick up the money we owed the government or we would be arrested.- Caller: "United States Currency Department"

- LarrySame person called my parents phone and was very balidgerent with me. Refusing to stop calling. Saying he was going to keep calling over and over.

- Caller: Government Grant
- GeorgeI've got two calls from this #: few days ago - sounded like asian lady & today - sounded like indian dude (both with heavy accent). They gave me the same story as it mentioned above: "Told me S/he was with the United States Federal Grant Department and I was chosen to receive a grant $7K....and so on...blah, blah". After few simple reasonable questions (why & from where they have my previous, 10 years old, address and don't have current? why they don't send me all info by regular mail? can I call them back?) they just hang up without any answers...
I don't understand what they can do with my name, address & mobile # even they'll get it somehow w/out SSN, c/c # and/or bank acct # ??? Can somebody explain?- Caller: United States Federal Grant Department
