i let ans machine p/u  i here a person say hold on even b-4 they here its an ans machine that picked up. and then another person gets on and says " can you here me ok"  when they get no response they hangup. i read somewhere that they want you to say "yes" so dont do it just hang up.  again dont no why they want u to say yes but i think they want to verify that its a good working number.  caller id only shows the phone # twice.  where the name is and number is.

I let my answering machine pick up on this unfamiliar DC number.  A young female immediately shouts "Can you hear me OK?"  Without my answering, she hung up, without identifying herself or leaving a message.  This party has recently called my number before without leaving a message.  It cannot be a good thing; whatever it is they desire.  Its quite irritating.  The "Do Not Call List" be damned.

I did not answer the call from this number and they left nothing on the answer machine. I think a variety of callers work together to get info. one caller that I answered wanted me to verify my name, another my email, another my home address, another asked questions that would require a yes answer. I believe answers to the callers are being taped for a later use.

This caller does not leave a message and I will not answer. Caller ID lists the number as the id. The do not call list does not work.

Same thing, they left a message saying can you hear me ok? Then hang up. They called me once a day for past 3 days. I'm blocking the number

they been calling for about a month, and I answered the phone he wanted a survey aarps but really could not under stand him did not speak good English.

Sometimes scammers take the YES you answered and edit it so that it appears you agreed to what they asked you. As in do you know you owe this debt I am calling you about? YES!.
