called on both cell phones with a recorded message saying that they (the IRS) had been trying to reach us bec they had filed a lawsuit against us.  Thank goodness the newspaper has run an article almost every other week about IRS scams.

Called back and they admitted to being a scammer after questioning.

Got two missed calls from this number. I stupidly called it back. Some foreign guy said he was with some security or something, couldn't understand him, and wanted to know what I wanted. I said I was returning call, "what did you want, you called me and I am just returning call." He said very short, " you called this number, what do you need? " I hung up!!!!! I pray I don't get charged an international call fee.

I received a call yesterday that I missed, I didn't know the number so I googled it and saw complaints such as this so, I blocked the number. Today I received a call from DC, USA 202-660-1742 so I answered and it was a female with a strong Indian accent first telling me she was from the IRS and not to interrupt her until she was finished, there was static on the line and she actually scolded me for speaking. I instantly snipped that I didn't say a word and continued to google this number as she was speaking. She was saying that the Federal Government believes I intentionally lied on my taxes that's when I went off and told her she was a liar and a scammer that I was contacting my Attorney General and reporting her. That she better not ever call me again and to take me off all of their call lists! Then I hung up on her and blocked that number! I am filing a complaint with my Atty Gen!

I got a call 8/5/2015 also.  They claimed that they are the IRS, to call 202-810-9089.  The male who answered is and Indian man who when I questioned who he was he got nervous & disconnected the call.  I called back and they said if we gave them the SS# to continue with the call.

I was at my friends home when I got this call saying that I was over $3000.00 dollars behind on my taxes from 2009 and I had an arrest warrant for me.  When I told him that I had all of my taxes done by the H&R Block here locally and had all my records to prove it the man hung up on me.  He had a thick India accent.

Thankful that I did a google search on this number.   I received a call  8-5-15 @  5:39 pm.   This call came to my cell phone.  I did not answer that call.  After reading about the people who have taken this call I will not be answering that number should they decide to call me again.

I am writing this for my 92 year old Mom. She is very with it and will not answer a call if she does not recognize the number. She got 3 calls in a row (in about 1 hour) from 202-660-1742. They left a message saying "This is your final notice from the Inspector General of Taxation Administration Department. You have a lawsuit against you. Call 202-810-9089 or your local police department."
She called me all upset! I am glad I found this on the web. I was able to reassure her that it was a scam. She asked my how to make it stop? And why are they still doing it if other people reported it? To make it stop for her I told her to call her personal phone company for her landline and get the number blocked. She is 92 years old for heaven sake!
