Received call. No name. didn't answer.

Received 3 of these calls today and 2 yesterday. Says District of Columbia on caller i.d.  No one speaks when we answer.

Been getting these calls lately as well. Doesn't leave a message.

I've been getting calls on my cellphone from this and other 202-715 numbers with nobody speaking.
I'm blocking them.

My 89 year old mother has been receiving multiple calls per day on her moblie from 202-715-6657. This is harrassment.
It seems to be unidentified caller from the D.C. area....

Called this morning and asked for my dad by his first name. Told her he wasn't here, what was this regarding. ..she did just a courtesy call. Asked if I could take a message,  she did she'd call back later. I said he was out of town for the next few months.  She then said,  what about Mrs? . I said same thing. She hung up. They are both in their early nineties, and easily taken in by scanners,  so I usually try and answer. My dad had been getting mailings from the Democrat party. He's a registered republican. I'm thinking like the others,  that this is a PAC wanting money.

This number has been calling daily for several weeks. Caller ID says Washington DC. Never leaves a message. I don't answer calls where I don't know the number. Wish this would quit--very annoying. Am on do not call list but that is useless.

We've been harassed with calls from (202) 715-6657, Washington DC, at all times of the day!  Enough!!!!!

Receive several calls daily from 202-715-6657.  I never pick up phone nor does anyone leave a message.  Calls originate from DC.   Irritating. Calls come both in the evening and in the morning, 7 days a week.  Wish calls would stop.

They call ALL the time to my job. They call at least 3 times a day and if I answer there is no one on the phone. Like the others say they leave no message and i have called back and its always busy but if i call with my cell then it just gives me an option to be on the do not call list but they still call. This is irritating me...

I used to file complaints with the FCC, until I realized that it was just peeing-in-the-breeze. Now, since my number is registered on the DoNotCall Registry, any one who cold-calls selling something or asking for donations, is FAIR GAME. I engage them and try to cost them as much time and/or money as possible. This call was supposedly from "Dist Of Columbia" - they hung up when I answered. If they call back and are, in fact, a political PAC, I'll pledge money and request a bill in the mail. This method A) costs them time AND money, B) helps out the U.S. Postal Service, and C) gets me the occasional un-cancelled forever stamp from their return envelope. Great fun...and really the only way left to stop the telephone madness...

This is the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Since I'm also on the NDNCR, here's what I like to do with these political PAC folks: Ask questions and express interest in what they are doing (what ARE they doing...?), then pledge a nominal amount (usually $50 - $100). When they ask for a CC#, tell them your CC was hacked, or you don't give it over the phone, etc. Ask them to send you an invoice in the mail. This will A) cost them time and money to do the mailing, B) help out the Post Office, and C) sometimes get you return envelopes with un-cancelled Forever stamps (Woo-hoo!). Sometimes ya' jist gotta' fix thangs yerself...

Have received 10 calls in a week! (We NEVER answer unknown calls) I just called the number back and the chirpy canned message NEVER identifies who they are but says: "Thank you for calling, If you'd like to be placed on the do not call list, please hit 1 now."  I've been told NEVER to respond because (a) they'll know your number is "good," and (b) you'll have given them your number - for MORE harassment!

Your idea is brilliant!  (And thank you for identifying who they represent) I'm also keen to to keep postal people employed. But I'm still annoyed beyond measure to realise that we pay good money for the privilege of a phone only to be harassed by callers we don't know - and don't care to know - under any circumstances!
