Caller said that i have won a $ 7000.00 government grant and all i needed to do was pay a 250.00 to pick up a money order for the grant , ok first of all you never win anything unless you did actually enter a legit contest which i never entered any contest for this , so i pretty much thought that this had to be and or was some sort of a scam , usually in most cases if you win something you would not have to pay anything to get what you have won unless of course its the lottery and taxes are already taken out of your winnings and your given whats left.

I got a call saying I was chosen to get $7,00 of a government grant because of my timely tax filing, no criminal record and never filed for unemployment. They knew my age. I asked why are is the government giving me money when we are in so much debt as a nation? They never answered my question. They want me to pay $250 to the Federal Reserve to receive the $7000 tax free money. Sounds like a scam to me. I could barely understand the two different men I spoke with not even their names. What is this all about?

They're still at it I got a call today saying I was receiving a $7,00.00 Government Grant telling me the same thing they told Mbetanco.  I never called the number they told me to call.   I'm sure glad I googled the phone number.

Oh yes the guy who called me and told me to call 202-738-4339  was Christopher Williams and his employee Number is 32461 I think it's safe to say he is not from America, very hard to understand.

These people keep calling me to say that I have won some money and want me to send them some.  They call me four or five times a day.  I am so sick of them calling.

Omg I just got the same call. What a joke. They said it was from the reconstructive and rehibilitation act of 2009. Lol. They said 1500 civilians were picked this year to receive it. I was one of them. I gave gim a debit card number to put the money on and then at the last minute he said but first we need to charge a one time fee of 300 that I would get back in 15 minutes cause they were depositing 7300. Anyway... I said "how funny cause the govt doesn't charge to give a grant. I know this cues the grants in college. He was kind of hesitant and tried to out smart me with jibberish .. I then brought out what broke him.... I continued "my husband is a detective for city of Tampa police dept. and he just did a sting on stealing and filing taxes under recently deceased or elderly people. I said I don't have the money in there yet but when he gets home I will call you back and we can use a different account #. And he has connections with the government in Washington so he can check into it a bit just to be on the safe side. Lol. He started yelling and said fine don't call back and don't do it. You don't have to believe me and hung up...... Crazy. Btw.... That was an account I really do have but it has 3.00 in it and we are closing it tomorrow and planned on it beforehand cause we opened one up at a credit union. So I admit I was falling for it until he said but wait!!!.... We need to deduct 300 first... Then it was game time!!! I made that all up. My husband is not a detective lol

The phone number 202 7384339 ext 141 name was jacquline saying she was from the gov n I had 7000.00 in my name unclaimed. All I had to do was buy the greendot card n put 300.00 in there and it would 15 min to get my money plus the 300.00 I paid out of pocket. What got me was having to pay for the card n puttin money in there just so it can be sent back. HUGE SCAM!!

Yeah I just got the call too... could barely understand the foreign accent through the crappy signal. I took all the information, told him I wanted cash (audible sigh from his end) and then googled it. But I already knew what I would find. I am reporting this and you all should also. The number called from (caller ID) was 234-566-780 and a missing digit. The number I was told to call was 202-738-4339. He said some BS about filing my taxes on time, never being on unemployment, etc and, even though he knew my name, number and where I lived, he obviously did not know I have been on unemployment twice for plant closings. He assumed I work (I do, part time) but I am a full doctoral student and know all about grants. They are not done like this! Especially with a government grant, the process to apply and be accepted is horrendous! Do people actually fall for these jokers? I wanted to give the 7k to him so he can buy a clue.

p.s. my call came in today under 202-88-3262 as a voice mail from the IRS and it was barely understandable.

I keep on getting phone calls from this number. They state that they are a Government office and that I have been given a grant for education.
I asked for their phone number and "Simon" stated that time was running out for me to take advantage of this grant.
