They  called said the irs was file"ing  a  lawsuit   against me and to call this number i  new  something,, they  dont even have a name unless  you call and give them information  about  yoyrself..

They called me twice today and it is a total scam! They are posing as the IRS but they aren't. It is a fear tactic to get you to call the number back give them information (like your name) that they don't even have in the first place. Later they will try and convince you to deposit money in a bank account to pay off your Fake Debt. Don't do it! They will take your money!

I hung up after the female caller said something to the effect, "This is the IRS; this is a second attempt to get in touch with you to let you know you are to be sued...".

I guess it's no longer a surprise to know such scum exists in the U.S.  "Scam call" should be added to the "Call Type" drop-down.

I just got the same robocall threatening IRS is filing a law suit and asking to be called back at 202 738 4442. Clearly a scam!!!

Scam Alert 202 738 4442 says IRS is looking to file a law suit.. I traced this number and it comes back listed to Verizon Wireless... a total scam

Received this voice message at about 4:30 pm today.

"Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number 202-738-4442. I repeat 202-738-4442. Thank you."

Returned call just now 10:15 pm but just rang about 25 times.  I knew it was a scam but wanted to find out what they would say if they answered.

I got a call from this number, they left a msg.  A woman said this is my final notice, I'm being sued by the IRS.  She knew my first name, thought she knew my last name, I didn't correct her, she knew my address.  I have extreme anxiety disorder and I immediately lost it.  I called back and I screamed her ear off.  I thought this was real but couldn't figure out how I could possibly have filed wrong.  She said she would check my file and send me something in writing.  I've been an emotional mess all day.  I wish I knew how to pursue this further or who to go to.  Anyway, thank God it's a scam.  I feel like a house has been lifted off my shoulders.

Called me said its was filing a lawsuit against me

I got several calls from this number saying they were the IRS and that I needed to something right away.  I'm livid that these scumbags are praying on innocent people. I called them back and called them out and they hung up on me. Now, I believe my phone numbers have been blocked.

Scam, although I tried to call back and it almost seemed legit, because just like the IRS II received a busy signal.

Person who identified herself as Kelly Geen said she was from the IRS and that today was my last day to work on my file so I didn't get sued.

This number keeps calling my 90 yr old grandma with a recording about a lawsuit against her. Ridiculous.  Preying on the elderly!
