Calling about an enforcement action from the US Treasury.  Obvious scam OR I am going to jail ;)

IRS phishing fraud. Gave name as "David Gray" and after a threatening message left this callback number. Did not use our names in the message.

Phishing call, supposedly from the Treasury Department. If I didn't call back a grand jury would indict me. I guess I'll just take my chances.

11/22/15 8:21am basically got same message as Dennis, J Hall, and Mac.  Message went into voice mail. Guess I will wait til a U S Treasury agent knocks on my door!!! Oh right, mine was a Federal Criminal Offense.

Caller ID said it is from a cell phone.  Left the same message as everyone else.  The man's voice had a foreign accent but it sounded like he was really trying hard to speak without it.  I guess we will all be in jail together!

Same call twice in a couple of hours, we'll keep each other company in jail, apparently :).

See ya there. When are we they coming to get us?

Just received a call from 202-754-8175 threatening an IRS "enforcement action". Make sure your friends and especially your older relatives know these calls are SCAMS. Do not answer or call back. Under no circumstances should you send any money. The government does not collect payments through PayPal, etc and they do not make phone calls demanding cash or legal action - especially on Saturday mornings.

Got the same call. Sounded like the guy had an Indian accent, but like Venus said it also sounded like he was trying to cover it up.

Same story as below. Enforcement action by US Treasury. Call back and cooperate or be hauled up in front of federal grand jury and magistrate. Did not say who he was calling for. I also spotted the foreign accent. I should put him in touch with that Nigerian prince. They could hang out.

Claims to be from the treasury department and we are being charged with a federal crime. Report the caller to treasury.gov

No don't send him to me. He tried to steal my $ 89 m that I been trying to send out of the country. Can I send it to you?  I just need your.................

They said it was the US Government.

Darn.  I guess I am spending Thanksgiving in jail.  Did not see this coming. {sarcasm}

Man with foreign accent left message that I needed to call 2027548175 to avoid federal prosecution.  He said it was second attempt to contact us but had not received a call or had message left before.he also said I needed to contact him so he could help me help them, I assume he was referring to the US Treasury.  This man did not leave a name.

Obvious scam. His robot talked to my robot, who transcribed this message:
"Regarding an enforcement action executed by the United States Treasury and tending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 202-754-8175. I repeat it's 202-754-8175. I'd like you to call paper with us and help us to help you."

called my wife said tax return was wrong and the sheriff would be there in 45 min. to arrest her. he had a woman working with him. wife said send them and hung up. upset her pretty bad.

same message as the other ones,  I'm just waiting to go to jail, for the federal Goverment
