- DwIf you say "hello" you will get someone other than that it's silence & they leave no message.
It's a telemarketer for what she identified as American Loan Association. The Caller comes up as ALA- Caller: american loan association
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MCall often. We do not answer. Have never done bus inert with them. So tired of this.
- Caller: ALA
- PJ| 1 replyThis number comes up on caller ID 3 to 4 times a day. It comes up as ALA. We never answer. It's a nuisance, and we wish they would just STOP.
- ASThis 202 number is just one of the 202 numbers coming in as Anonymous everyday. If you block it, another 202 number comes in as Anonymous every single day. I know someone somewhere could figure out who is doing this and do something about it. It is driving me bananas!
- Caller: Anonymous
- MarthaThey keep calling, last 4 numbers a little different each time. They let it ring just till answering machine picks up and then they hang up. Very annoying.
- NG| 1 replyIf you call the number back it's the American Lung Association. Calls my house several times a day. Very annoying.
- darthvadar replies to NGPresumably lots of heavy breathing on the phone line then. Could be genuine.
- Punk 'EmThese robo-calls are generally made to find out whether a number is active and when someone is available for a telemarketer to call. Since there is no ID or communication, and so no way to know which telemarketer is using this, I treat ALL telemarketers the same way (especially since they ALL are breaking the National Do-Not-Call Registry law):
* Waste as much of their time as possible by asking questions and seeming interested but reluctant.
*Give phony info to any questions asked, especially personal info like CC#, SS# and address. Heck, give them a fake name (a loooong one that has to be spelled out...).
*If you can get actual company info, report them to the BBB (breaking the law is "Unethical Sales Practices" in my book).
*If they are selling something that involves a sales call, set up an appointment for a time that you aren't home (or simply don't answer the door).
*Try to get a mention of the DNCR in before they tire of the game and hang up.
If enough folks play this game, the cold-call, disregard-the-DNCR telemarketing business model will become unprofitable and eventually just go away. Oh yeah, as a bonus, the 'game' is great fun and very satisfying...- Caller: ALA
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Nellie replies to PJI agree 1000% with this statement, 3 to 4 times a day,,,,,,,,,,,,,STOP, I am on the Do Not Call List,,,,,,,,
- ArtieCalls everyday! Pain in the neck, since, i use a walker & getting phone takes effort. Our government officials have let us down big time, when, some effective law could be passed to stop all these nonsense calls on a system that we pay to have for our use!
- Caller: ALA
