A partial voice message left telling me to have my attorney or myself to call back this #. This is a time sensitive situation & if a return call is not made then all the caller can do is wish me luck as this situation  unfolds on me. The caller did not identify herself or hint as to what this is about.

I got the same call! Same message and no way to identify them.

I got the same call and message.  It's a known scam; foreigners posing as IRS.  Ignore it or report it to IRS if you like (phishing@irs.gov, put "IRS phone scam" in the subject line).  Other than that, forget about it.

Excellent info John, thanks.  I would encourage that everyone make a note of this phone number, and whenever a website, or magazine, or grocery store bonus card/club, or whatever needs you to put a phone number on your application or request for access to their site, or whatever, give them this number!

I got a phone call from the number as shown. It was a recording with a threatening message that we were involved in a criminal law suit and that if we did not respond, 'good luck.' He claimed to be with the US Treasury Department

Got the exact same recorded call today.  Received a similar call last week and the woman's last comment (after threatening legal action for failure to return her call asap) was "have a blessed day." I report each call to treasury.gov website... I've received at least a dozen similar calls and made that many reports, yet the calls keep coming, each time from a new number.  These people are BEYOND annoying!!!

Left me a message at my home answering machine today March 23, around 12:45 pm, from a Kimberly Jones Legal Department of United States Treasury,, regarding a Criminal Law Suit File aganst you ( no name in particular, just YOU) Telling me to have my attorney or myself to call back this # 202-800-5582, a case # was also mentioned.......and , that if we did not respond, the person can only wish me "GOOD LUCK" as the situation unfolds on "me".......This message sounds very intimidating..... I am  going to report call to treasury.gov website.

I called them back, knowing it was a scam. I told them to F off. They called back and did the same. Oh well...

Received exact same message - probably the IRS scam I've heard about where scammer will threaten you so DO NOT ANSWER

Just received this same call with the "good luck"  wish at end  of call.  Like the idea of putting down that number so they receive a ton of unwanted calls.  SICK OF THESE JERKS

Said they were from US treasury and a suit had been filed against me. Gave a file number said I needed to have my attorney respond and if I didn't suffer the consequences basically.

Left message about me or my attorney calling them back. Time-sensitive issue. If they did not hear from me, they wished me good luck about this issue. Did not return call.

Threatened me to call back; and good luck(like everyone else said).  If it is the IRS they always get a hold of you by mail(usually registered so there are no excuses); & the government is not going to threaten you and tell you good luck...  After listening to the exact similar cases I realized it was a hoax.

received same call , I returned the call and was told they were sending a Sheriff to arrest me for tax fraud he told me he would be at my home within half hour.
