also states that i can have an attorney present when i call back.  not sure what this is about.

actually my wife received the call jennifer was looking for my brotherinlaw earlier this afternoon

tried searching numer but there is no match.  area code if from washington dc

I have received the same call. I have talked to several people who say she cannot do what she is saying she will do.  I'm not too worried about it. She threatens to prosecute if you don't pay the amount due within 2 hours. As far as I know...they have to give you a longer time frame to pay.

This is a fraud. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT give Jennifer ANY personal information.

So one named Jennifer Goodwin called my number for my son, when I called her and asked to be put on the do not call list she said that they would keep calling, she then hung up on me. I called back and asked her if she hung up on me and she stated that she did and I told her that I was going to report her and hung up on her.  My son doesn't have a checking account and does not write checks so i know it's a lie.

I was called by Katherine Harrington from a 202 827 1010 number she left a message stating she was from the fraud department and that I could have my lawyer present. I called back and was then transferred to this guy who goes by the name Adam Frost I was told I had 2hrs to pay the money or I would be arrested. This freaked me the hell out but after talking to family and friends and reading the different posts on here this has to be an action of fraud. My question is who do I report this to?

By the way the call back number for Adam Frost was 202 827 0700.

Is this fraud or not?  I have been getting the same calls as everyone else. Threatening me and saying if I do not pay in 2 hours I will be arrested.  Please respond and let me know.

Well lets tell Ms. Goodwin that she is violating the Fair Debt Collections & Practices Act by threatening people first of all, by not providing any information secondly so lets stop being bullied by these rip off artists.

I did receive a call right after I signed up for Google Voice (coincidence?), didnt say who they were calling for and also said to refer to file # but did not give it. So let them call me back.. I left a message and will tell her I will sue her for violating my rights under Ohio's Fair Debt Collection & Practices Act in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Ohio.  Hahahaha bring it on [***]...

I got a call this morning at 8am...from this number.  When I answered I got a recording that said i needed to contact the bad check division immediately and that it was not a soliciation call.
I was worried of course and contacted my bank.  There were no bad checks stated on my account.
Be careful if you give out info to these people...im sure its a scam!

Glad i checked up on this number. I was worried because i got a call from 2028270700, they left a message and it scared me. I called back but just got a voicemail and the lady's name was Jennifer Goodwin so i hung up. I dont write checks but i thought i screwed up somewhere. Thanks all, im just going to avoid this number.

Just called Jeniffer. Did not give her any personal information. She wanted my phone number to remove it from the call que. Did not give it. I then asked for her business name and address. She asked why I needed that. I said I like to know who I'm dealing with. She gave this informstion:

If you want to report it to your States Attorney Genrals office that's the information.

I got the same call. And when I returned it, got a VM recording of "Jennifer Goodwin".
Message left was a recording of a male saying in a ponderous voice, meant to intimidate, that he was from the "Check Recovery Group" calling about a check returned by my bank (not legit) and to return the call "with counsel on line".

Also told me to refer to my file number, but gave no file number to refer to - as if I would know what the file number was.

Got the same call.  Report this number to the Fair Trade Commission immediately!  I've received TWO!  Real legit companies will send you a letter.

I received a call first from Obrian wexler and associates claiming the same thing. I asked for the. Paperwork and they emailed me a phony email with nothing on it.. coincidentally I received a call from 202-837-0700 and its the same thing from a different person.. this morning someone called my number private and she said she had a court order for me.. that I was being sued.. then she asked for my address.. my understanding is that if u were getting served they'll just show up and serve u..

Got a call from a Jennifer Goodwin stating that I had a bad check that was returned (from who I dont know she would not state from where) and that I should  have my attorney present the next time I called.  I tried calling from another phone and got a v/m which stated that her inbox was full.  The last time I called a woman picked up with a "yea" instead of announcing the place of business and put me on hold for over 5min so I just hung up.  I dont know who this woman is but she will not get a penny out of me.

Oh and I do not have any checks so where is her (Jennifer Goodwin) information coming from?

Got the same message as many did but it was left electronically but the content was the same.   Totally unrelated but I was offered an interview within a two hour window the an account that I'd never heard of.
