- mom| 7 repliesReceived a call from someone claiming to be calling about the "application" I filled out (which I did not) about my son and they understand he is talented and did I want to make an appointment for modeling opportunities. They knew his name and how old he was...It gave me the creeps! They've called 2x in 2 days. I saw this # listed here on Suspicious #'s but with no details. Has anyone else had calls from this "company"?
- Caller: Interface?
- MJI've been getting calls from this number everyday at least twice a day for many days, they never leave a message, so i assume its not important and its problably a scam of some sort. It shows up as a stamford number.
- Caller: Unknown
- dadGetting calls also. They know my daughters email, height, weight, age, etc. Oddly they hang-up when they hear a male voice
- ab| 2 repliesI had also received a phone call from this number and the girl said for my family to come down and get evaluated, it would just take 30 minutes of my time. I just hung up on her because it sounded as if she was reading a phone script. The number also showed on my caller id as Stamford CT.
- apI've been getting calls from this number as well. I thought it was someone who had the wrong number, but I finally called back today and it's a scouting talent agency. They just said that they would take my name off their calling list. So we will see if I get any more calls! I suggest calling and asking them to take your number off the list or just tell them they have the wrong number. Because the girl told me they have a "wrong number" list as well.
- Caller: Talent Souting Agency
- Mark| 3 repliesI can shed some light on this one. I will present the facts and let you draw your own conclusions.
Some people representing the InterFace Talent Network (http://www.interfacetalent.com/) stopped my family in the Westfield mall last weekend and offered a "free evaluation" for our daughter. I was a little leery, but they told me it was quick and at no-cost, so we agreed to set up an appointment. A few days later, they called from the 203-391-5860 number and we set up an appointment for Sunday at 1:00. They told me to make sure my daughter was "dressed for success" and that both my wife and I needed to come and bring three recent photos of our daughter and two forms of ID each. A quick check of 203-391-5860 turned up (as you are all probably aware) that the number is unlisted. That made me even more nervous, but we kept the appointment.
We showed up a little early at their location at 35 N Water St in Norwalk. It appeared to be recently-converted commercial space. The place was packed with people, mostly young children and their parents, but some older kids and adults, as well. When I say "packed", I mean that there were about half again as many people waiting as there were chairs. We checked in and were told that they didn't validate parking for the ramp they instructed us earlier to park in.
There was one unisex bathroom. (You can guess how the lines were for that, and at least one person obvoiusly had a bad stomach.) I filled out the paperwork and settled down to wait. And wait. (Please remember, this place is packed with active young children.)
At 1:30, the place had even more people than at 1:00. When I asked how much longer it would be, I was told by one of the two clearly-overwhelmed receptionists that she wasn't sure what the delay was and it shouldn't be more than another ten minutes. Shortly after that, a food delivery arrived and all interviews/evaluations/whatever stopped immediately.
At 2:00, my daughter couldn't take any more sitting around and I'd reached the end of my patience as well. We told them to withdraw her paperwork and left. Not only had we each wasted three hours on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon, but I was stuck with a $6 parking fee as well.

- very angry mother!!!!this number is Interface Talent Network!!!!!!! We just went to Interface Talent Network in Norwalk, CT. A girl at the mall ran up to us and said our 6 month old daughter would be perfect. So we filled out the card and was told we would get a call in a week or two. Well we got the call the next day. The person said their director was very eager to meet our daughter. So we just went to the "Free" evaluation. It all went great, till the end. well first, they showed us some success stories in this folder. The kids in the composite shots didnt look like the kids on the magazines or adds they showed. Then we got to the end. The guy told us they would need to take professional photos to set up the composites. He said it would cost us $550. And he said we would have to pay right then and there. We asked if we could have a few days to come up with the money, because we weren't told over the phone we would need it that night. He said no because they would need to hold the spot. He then asked if we had anyone that can help, I said my father would but he would want to come down and bring his lawyer to be sure it was all legitimate. the guy got very nervous. we said we couldn't pay then, but if we knew we would have brought the money. I'm SOOOOO glad we didn't. it seemed very shady. and after researching things online, it is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- glad i read these comments| 1 replyI was also at the mall in milford ct and a girl came up to me and my daughter, who is almost 7 months, and asked if I had thought about modeling her. I told her no, I hadn't, and she suggested I try: oh she is so beautiful, has pretty eyes..etc. etc, I'm sure she tells this to everyone with a child. I went ahead and filled out a card, and was told I would get a call in 2-3 weeks to set up a free evaluation. Well, I get a call today, which is the next day, from this 203-391-5860 and caller ID identifies it as stamford, ct. I didn't answer the phone because I didn't know the number. They didn't leave a message (which didn't surprise me) and when I checked online I find out that it is a scam. I kind of figured that it was, since it was set up at the mall and they didn't leave a message on my machine...next time they call I will have to tell them to leave us alone.
- christine| 1 replyMy husband and I were in the mall in danbury, ct when he was approached by a girl who said our one year old son would be perfect for modeling and we would have to fill out a card and they would call us to make an appoinment. they called the next morning and we made an appoinment to bring him in. the girl i spoke with on the phone told us to bring in two forms of id and a few pictures of him. i asked her if there would be any fees of any kind the next day she assured me there would not be. we brought my son in and the girl we spoke with showed us pictures of other babies compsite cards and some of the work they had gotten, it sounded good untill she pulled out a sheet that had listed all the prices of the photo packages. we would need to purchase one of these. the prices started at 500.00 and went up to 2000.00. when i asked her if we could use a photographer of our choice she said no. thats when i stared thinking what a scam this is. then i told her we needed a few days to think it over, she said we needed to book the spot right then. when i told her we didnt have the money with us she tried to bargain with us. it took my husband yelling at her to get her to stop talking. i hope this helps you before you get scamed. if you think you did you can report it to www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/services/model.shtm
hope this helps- Caller: interface talent network, norwalk ct
- Joeyyeah i have gotten a call fromt his place but i dont remember giving out my information now that i know about this now (great site) im going to play with them hehehe tell them im going to bring my lawyer down and see if they still want me too =)
- Once Bitten, Twice Shy, 3 times a Fool| 5 repliesBEWARE!!
My wife and I had the same experience as those mentioned except it went a little further.
After the "photoshoot" we were told that we would have to speak to make an appointment to speak to the Marketeer and both parents had to be there. I told them that only one parent would attend.
My wife went and after being with InterFace representative for 2 hours she phoned me to have me speak to the rep.
The happy and peppy acting rep explained to me that since my child was so young (16 months), that they would be focusing on print jobs for magazines and the like. She said that it didn't make since for him to go for acting parts since he obviously can't read a line, walk on cue, etc.
I then asked her what percentage of her clents were actually hired for work and she replied 70%. I asked her how many were hired for repeat work, and she acted if she didn't understand the question. I repeated the question and she explained to me that they don't keep stats. She then went on to tell about the "success" story of a client who went on to appear on Gossip Girls tv series. I told her I knew about that from the first interview and asked her for another example of success. She didn't answer the question, instead guiding me elsewhere saying that my son could do movie spots, commercials, etc.
When I reminded her that she told me my son couldn't do that media, she chided me by saying..."What?? OF COURSE HE CAN, WHY NOT??"
I then asked her to tell me about Interfaces' competition. She could not name anyone.
At this stage we had sunk about $1,000 into taking "pictures" and now they were asking us to pony up another $800 for 3 months of posting on their website. $1,800 for 3 years or something like that.
I asked her for my possible spending a total of $1,800, what could I expect from my investment. Or in other words, how much could we expect to be compensated for a print in a magazine.
She answered saying that there are many variations to consider. It depended on if he were the only child on the print, a full page or half page print, national or local distribution, etc.
She went on and on about that nonstop. When I interrupted her I asked her to base a pay range on a single full page, local ad, or to pick a scenario on her own. She said she can't. I told her "I just gave you one". She sent on again that I didn't understand that there are many scenarios. I said "I just gave you one".
I then tried to "break it down" to her that I'm looking to know what the possible compensation was, "$35, $50, $300? Give me a monetary range."
She explained that they are not that type of organization. I replied that I knew but I was sure she had soooome idea on what their clients are compensated. So I again asked her if she had any knowledge.
She then told me "YES I DO!"
NOW I THINK I"M GETTING SOMEWHERE.
So I aske her to tell me. She told me "No, I can't do that".
When I asked "Why?" she replied, "Because you'll hold me to that figure and I can't guarantee that you'll get that number."
I told her that I would sign a document stating that I wouldn't hold her to that number and mentioned that "By the way, I am not holding you to that 70% figure" she gave me earlier.
She started to stammer more about that she has the numbers but can't give them to me.
It was then that I told her that I thought she and InterFace were not building trust. That my family is honest and hard working and that she was not building trust. Especially since she demanded that we make a decision on making a payment while my wife was in their office.
It was then that I told the woman that we will eat our losses and not continue.
My wife left with our 48 photo shots. (Which actually had only 15 or so "GOOD" poses. The others had my son either looking away, frowning, not smiling, etc)
Good luck if you continue with this bunch. My wife and I decided to take the $800 that we might have spent and buy some Google stock in my son's name and put another $1,000 in his college fund. A BETTER INVESTMENT!!!! - Kay NormanThis is a scam -.They called us several times scouting for my child who they had met in the mall-we went to meet with them and they talk to you like your child is heaven sent and then to proceed forwzrd to explore your child talents you need to do photo shoots for $850-$1000-...and you have to sigh up right then or else you will miss the "potential opportunity" to make the mega bucks -we saw right thru this and walked out -no one can ask you to make a decision at a spur of the moment -please all of you out there do your research and beware of scams like these. Our money is hard earned and not to be given away to phoney people who pretend to be a legit company when they are not.
- Sue DI got all the same line on the phone but from a different number. (203) 545-2049. Listed to a cell phone but the woman "Trudy" told me she was from Interface Talent in Norwalk, and that they had seen my 16 yr old son at the mall. I asked her to call back later after I had talked to my son and my husband. Then I found this website. I'm glad I found all of your comments. I will not waste my time when she calls back.
- popoki pI can only assume it is Interface Talent that has been calling me. I was at the danbury mall yesterday and was asked to fill out a card for them. Now this number has been calling me and hanging up, wasting my cell minutes. ><
- KimberThese people called my house and didn't leave a message. I am glad I looked on the internet. My child was approached at a mall in Manchester. My daughter was so excited. She doesn't have the best confidence and I think if I had taken her and they said that she would be great and then they didn't follow through (or we didn't have the money to do it), it would have done some real damage. I don't know who the heck these people think they are but something needs to be done. BBB sounds good to me.
- EWThank you sooooo much everyone for your comments. I went there with my husband and kids and the lady seemed so too good to be true. I was almost taken, but then we finally "bargained" her down to calling her back in two days. I was almost going to leave my credit card for a downpayment. Thank goodness I didn't! The only money I lost was the 2 -3 gallons of gas at $4.30 per gallon, so that was a lot of money considering the price of gas, but comparing to what other people have spent, this is chump change. So, I am sorry for some of you who have spent thousands of dollars. This is a SCAM!!!! PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THIS!!!! P.S. I'm not writing a lot because the stories that were typed above mine are all the same, we experienced the same stories and lines. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!
- jcboogiebearyes, I too made the trip down to SONO this week.........and after an hour of wonderous and gregarious banter.....was LITERALLY THROWN OUT when I wouldn't committ ON THE SPOT....trust me, NO legitimate company would do this .....and I really like the way that A. 3 seperate people went overboard to remind me that they are NOT an agency ( modeling or employment ) and B. neither you or they are under contract.......this says to me that they can take your money and sit on their hands because the only thing they have promised to do is sell you overpriced photos.....and absolutely NOTHING else......photos that i might also add are NOT necessessary for children under 5 b/c their looks can change almost overnight........we all need to contact tha Atty. General and get their [***] out of CT like the did in NJ !!!!!!!!!!!!!

- JH| 14 repliesJust to let eveyone know this company is NOT a scam! It's funny that the only people who have anything bad to say are people who have never worked with the company at all. Why don't you do some real research! I did and this is what I came up with. They work with over 200 agencies in the Northeast and these agencies have great things to say about them. This company helped my friend get to were he is today.
He is now getting all types of modeling jobs out in NY city. This company has unlimited resources that I will not get into. SO before anyone makes another comment, please know what your talking about. Thank you- Caller: interface talent network
- CindyJH ^. You probably work for Interface, I also went through the whole process at the mall and instantly realized, most modeling "agencies" don't make you pay for their services, but they take their payment out of your salary while working with them because they believe you'll make them money. Why would anyone have to pay so much money to get a few headshots and theres not even a promise that you'll get actual work.

- Kelsame thing happened to me. guy at the mall told my mom and i that i could get plenty of jobs, and it would only take a few minutes to come down for an appoitment. my mom wouldnt even take his card and i'm glad she didnt after reading this!
