They call at least 3x a day without leaving a message or speaking.  I looked the company up on Yellow pages and apparently, it is a fundraising company in Waterbury, CT where I am from.

They own National Benefit.  Feel free to call them at home.  By the way, their State of Conneccticut annual report for their business (required) is delinquent (due February 2010)

In response to your claim, we are a fundraising company hired by the Waterbury Police Activities League. We make our calls from a computerized Predictive dialer which dials numbers randomly. What happens when you pick up the phone and no one is the is due to the computer holding your number until an operator is free to take the call. If an operator is not available to take the call due to them talking with other people the the computer will drop your call and procede to another number>. This is not done intentionally. As far as calling you 3x a day the computer is set to dial each number once a day not multiple times. If you would like to be placed on our do not call list call 203-597-1639 and leave your name and phone number and you will placed on it immediately.

To Rich:  Why should I have to call YOUR number to be placed on YOUR DO NOT CALL list, when I am already on the official DO NOT CALL list and you are not in compliance.

They call all the time, a few times a day, even if I answer they hang up,

I just received the call, and after they asked for money for Police Explorers which is supposedly a group to train young adults as police, and I said I was in a financial crunch, he went on to ask personal questions like my marital status, my ethnic background, and my age, plus appeared to know where I live.  I don't appreciate this, and I am also on the Do Not Call list.

Rich, I called 203-597-1639 just now, the outgoing messages does say to leave your number to be placed on the do not call list, after which it hangs up without beeping or recording my message.

I have had three calls from this number this afternoon. I too, have been asked why I can't donate, ask president Obama or Dan Malloy!!!! I have called your number 5 times in the past 10 minutes as you suggested above to be removed from your database, and its always busy. Shall I call your home? Are you having dinner right now? Taking care of a sick parent?

Just received a call from this number - they ask if I was Mrs. xxxxx and I asked what was this in regards to - they hung up.

So Richard J Azzara why would I even want a phone call from your company again.  I would just like to know how you got my number.  Let me guess - it was bought with thousands of others.

PLEASE STOP THE CALLS.  I refuse to answer when I do not know the caller and and I refuse to call you when I am already on the national DO NOT CALL list.

They're a total scam and I think the best solution is call darling Rich at his home and see how he likes it!!  Posted upstream; begins w/ 860 and keep calling him, people.

Being on the Do Not Call Registry is a total joke!  I asked the same question as others did, "Rich, why do I have to give you my number to be taken off the list?"

The other solution is to block his calls if you're set up for it.

The PAL and Firefighters send out their own fundraising efforts, annually as do other PD organizations so that 100% of the monies donated actually go to them; whereas companies such as Rich skim off the top, pay themselves, their employees (harassers), so very little reaches if any reaches our 1st Responders.

I also got a call today 12/30/12 they are looking for money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Only companies that are selling a product have to abide by the Do Not Call list. A company that is raising funds for a non-profit police or fire and etc do not have a Do Not Call list. I am in the business I don't waste my time calling residents, there's no money in it as salesmen are paid by commission. Don't worry eventually they go away.

Stop lying to these people, legitimate fundraising companies do make a lot of these police and fire organizations a lot of money. I feel bad for these guys that have to call people in CT. If you had to count on their generosity to eat you'd starve! If the police were getting so little money why would they agree to do it then? Do you go to work for free? No, I didn't think so. I raised funds for a number of years and made a damn good living, I do know one thing hundreds of thousands of dollars out of the monies I raised went to great programs. So you shouldn't bash stuff when yo don't know what youre talking about.
