I received an unexpected, random text from this number & what caught my attention was they knew my name but I didn't recognize the number which has an area code I've never heard of before.

It said:
"hello *Tiffany* you there?? Haven't heard from u in a while."

I replied:
"Who's this?"

They said:
"ha ha if u want to know who this is you got to add me on yahoo msnger. my name is txtgirlie50

I don't know who this is, so I didn't reply. I don't know anyone w/this area code or how they have my name & number. & I don't even use my cell phone number - I always use my home number for business matters, etc.  & why would they want me to add them to yahoo messenger? I don't even know what that is, nor use it obviously. I don't get it?

I just got same text and same number. Its weird

Same thing happened to me. I have my cell phone number on my Facebook. Even tho my facebook is set to private, I wonder if they didnt fish the number from there?

This is a new way of getting personal information from you. They act as if they are a friend and then get you to give out details that can allow them access to your accounts. It isnt anything new, just a new way of doing it.
Also coming from #9363726075 with same messages. I contacted the provider and told them it was an illegal setup to mine information for illegal access of accounts.
