Rings once and they hang up. I saw at another site it was one of those numbers that when you call back... it's racks up mega charges.

Called me last night 4/23/14 at 8:30pm. I did not recognize the number and since it only rang once, thought that perhaps it was one of those scams trying to get me to call back. Looks like Deborah above thought the same thing.

Yeah - I had the same experience. I guess I don't understand how returning the call could rack up $$ though, since it's a regular area code ... Not a 900 type. Any ideas?

Received same call, rang, I answered, they hung up. I did not call back because I have heard of this scam.

What happens is, you call the number back and it transfers out to say Aruba, Haiti etc., then the money starts adding up. There is a current scam out there where the scammer hopes you call the number back out of curiosity to start making them money. Sadly there isn't a government agency that can shut these types of people down, because no one cares about getting them shutdown and sent to jail.

I received a call from this number and just ignored it.
