This number has been calling my home several times and I don't know why ...any help???

I got a call from this number today and a male voice sounded my last name and hung up!!!

Thanks, these guys take up about 15 of my call block slots because they use several numbers to try and get around the blocking feature.  I wish I had a wild card on my list where I could block 205-286-*.

I thought I recognised the number in the caller ID so I answered it. What I heard was as if I had called them and got their voice mail. It said "Hello, no one is available to take your call, please leave a message after the beep".

These people call constantly.  In the past month someone must have sold my phone number because I've gone from next to no scam calls to nonstop scams!

I got on their Do Not Call list, it worked for a couple of months, now they are calling again

I used the number from us disadvantaged industries web site to call these people. He asked what number i was calling about & told me had no record of my number. I told him I got his compant website information from this site pointing to his business. He said that number (as well as the entire 286 exchange) is not assosciated with his business. He thinks the 286 exchange is on the other side of the state from him. he also said he's going to research this himself,

This number called my home, says West Blocton AL on caller ID, I answered and wish I hadnt. This women who sounded older, stated that she was with the Blind and Disabled association and stated "you bought trash bags from the blind last year." I says no, and she continued into her speal ignoring that I said i hadnt bought trash bags, she proceeded to tell me to "please (at this point raising her voice) do my part, all blind people want a chance to work" I asked how much the trash bags were (at this point I was figuring scam) and she stated 280 bags was 99.99!!!!! Are you for real?? She then began begging stating she was a cancer patient fighting for her life and to PLEASE she yelled, do MY part to help....WTH does cancer have to do with blind? WTH would I pay 99.99 for a box of TRASH bags for? I hung up on her in the middle of her heated begging, and am most disgusted that people are allowed to call and harrass others scamming for money, telemarketing should be illegal!!

I also have an allotted amount of space for blocked numbers..For me it's to discourage them to stop calling so I decided to have some fun besides I like to save my negative energy for what battles I choose to fight so I answer the phone and I start to sing in my chipmonk voice ALVIN NER.NER,NER,ON AND ON IM PRETTY GOOD AT MAKING WEIRD SOUNDS or I send it to a voice mail that says PLEASE LEAVE THE NUMBER YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE RESEARCHED FOR SUSPICIOUS CALLERS OR BREAKING LAWS FOR IGNORING VARIOUS TELEMARKETING LAWS OR HARASSING CALLS .IT WILL BE RESEARCHED AND AND YOU WILL RECEIVE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION NEEDED(THE RAPE WISTLE THATS NOT DISHONEST THATS WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW)AND A SPECIAL FAVORITE THE RAPE WISTLE. SO FOR THE CALLS HAVE STOPPED AFTER A COUPLE OF THEM THEY PUT ME ONR THEIR BLACKLIST AS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!!!!!!

US Disadvantaged Industries is not a scam.  It is a legitimate business that tele-markets discount-store type goods at a considerable mark-up.  You will very likely get what you pay for delivered eventually.  The person beseeching your purchase will thank you to know you are supporting disadvantaged persons such as themselves.  I have purchased and received a fire extinguisher and a flag.  I could have purchased either at a local retail outlet saving more than half the price.  So, as a sow learner, I figure, I should just give the excess amount to the fund of my choice locally.  I would be happy to deal with this company, if they simply operated on a reasonable profit margin as an actual retailer, rather than a thinly-veiled appeal to your guilt induced desire to help the disadvantaged.

BTW.  I gave up on the do not call list months ago.  Now, I either enjoy letting them know their call is unimportant to me at this time, and I hang up on them; or keeping them on the line asking questions until they finally hang up on me.

I Called to file a formal complaint and got a call back from the manager who was very respectful and appropriate and handled the situation very well.

I received a call from this number last night on a brand new telephone number that hasn't been given out to anyone. The woman on the line asked for my grandmother, so naturally I asked who was calling. She was very rude in her response and hard to understand. I had to ask her to repeat her name 3 times and finally got Nell Cross as the woman's name. She said she worked for American Medical. I repeated the name of the company so my grandmother could hear and told "Nell" that my grandmother did not have any business with this company. The woman hung up on me! I believe this is a scam to bilk our senior citizens out of their hard earned money. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!! Let's protect our loved ones from these people.

This number is from US Disadvantaged, IE Telemarketer, They refuse to honor the Federal do not call list.
