- stargazer711Got a call from this number, claiming to be from "Windows Support". Clearly offshore (sounded Indian.) He could barely speak English. I told him that Microsoft does make unsolicited calls to users, but allowed him to continue. In his badly fractured English he warned me that my computer might have a virus. At this point I tired of listening to the scam, so I firmly advised him that I am a software engineer, I probably know a lot more about system security than he does, and my system is very thoroughly protected so I do not need his services. Asked him to add me to their do not call list. I doubt he understood anything I said.
Hint: If you want to try to scam me, at least use someone who speaks English well enough to conduct a basic conversation. Otherwise you are just insulting my intelligence and p*ssing me off.- Caller: "Windows Support"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- IT GuyThe person who called more than once could hardly speak English and would not identify the name of his company. He keeps using generic names like '24 'Hour Support Company' or ''PC Support Company". I am registered on the Canadian do not call list and would love to get the name of the company so i can report them.
The worst part is that they call me early in the morning and late at night.- Caller: They won't say

- RodReceived call on evening of Dec 15, 2011
Girl seemed to be laughing, and then hung up?
A spam call of some kind I am sure - PatAnswered the phone, caller ID said TACCESS, 206-397-1126, no one responded to my answer. Said hello three times, could hear background noises, but no voices. I hung up.

- dakota51Got a call from this number today. A man with a very pronounced Indian accent tried to tell me his name was James Anderson, and he was calling from "Windows Help". He said the reason he was calling is because my computer was sending him reports of malware and virus attacks. He implied without actually saying so that the call was coming from Microsoft. The area code 206 is from the area where Microsoft is headquartered, no doubt all part of the charade. (Clever scam artists and marketers can make whatever number they want appear on your Caller I.D. screen. It's called "spoofing".) I let him prattle on for awhile and then got tired of his clumsy sales pitch. I hung up after telling him "nice try but don't call me again".

- sbrooksReceived a message stating he was from Support ONe Care, name Bruce Anderson, phone # to call him back was: 888-308-5586
ON the caller id TACCESS appeared. He was saying all of our computers that had any windows OS were likely infected w a virus. I have just reported this to the FCC via their website. I'd encourage everyone else to do the same- Caller: Support One Care

- DanI have repeatedly received calls from this number here in Atlantic Canada. It amazes me that they keep calling saying that there are issues with my PC. What amazes me is that we are a Linux based environment and any window applications are on VM’s that don’t access the web at all. This is getting to be harassment and not just a nuisance. I feel bad for anyone naïve enough to fall for this scam.

- mitres| 1 replyI've had countless calls from these people (i'm based in the UK) - different numbers, all indian speaking but with very western names, Nigel Larry, Kevin, Susan, Sara etc!!!
Each time they indicate they are from Microsoft support and that I have stuff on my PC that is either a virus or will prevent it form running, catastrophic crashes imminent etc.
I used to simply tell them to stop calling, but the calls continued, so depending on the mood i'm in, i'll play them along.
I've asked if they are so sure of the problem and that they can see it, tell me what version of Windows I'm running, IP address etc, that usually gets them hanging up...
Another is that they must be really clever to see my computer having Microsoft errors all over it as I use a Mac...
Another is that I don't have a computer, so how can they see the problems...
My favourite, and most recent is when I was told by 'Bruce' that he was Microsoft Support, I said 'wow! so am I! Where are you? are you on the same floor as me?'
That flummoxed him, but he tried to get back on track, so i said, 'come on, where are you? you must be in the same place as me! Stick your hand up above your desk! Give me a wave!'
Now it was a bit quiet from his end, so I said 'come on, be a sport! We can start a Mexican wave! How about an Indian one? Chinese? I'm not fussy!'
He hung up... - JimThese guys have called me a few times to tell me that my software needs to be updated. They say they are Microsoft and are responsible to me because I am their customer and they are obligated to repair this "glich."
They also asked for access to my computer.- Call type: Prank
- Mr. B.As scams go, this one is below feeble!

- FredCaller asked for my wife. When i asked to take a message, they stopped talking. I hung up. Area 206 seems to be in Toronto. I am on the National do not call list. So these ppl are breaking the law.
- VSMy mom got a call from 206-397-1126 and 209-220-1908 numbers today. It was a man with a thick accent claiming that her computer was sending out viruses and he would help her install some antivirus/malware software to stop it. All she had to do was to go to the computer and he would guide her through it. After telling him she doesn't know anything about computers he left a name and phone number (the number was 510-281-1179 which actually appears to be a legitimate windows support company).
After hearing her story and conversation I knew it was a scam. How does this guy know the IP address of the computer and trace it back to someone with a name and phone number? If it were so easy all the bad guys lurking around on the internet would be in jail. Your internet service provider is the only one that knows this information and you need a court order to get it from them.
When the scammers called back she was able to confront the man and threatened to report this to the local police as a scam. He hung up. - garrettIt's a new scam to rip you off and infect your pc... Do not even talk to them... Idk how its even legal for them to get your #
- vickiI got a call a few minutes ago that my caller id shows as TACCESS 206-397-1126. If the caller told me his name I didn't catch it. He had an accent that sounded like Eastern Indian. His English was so poor that I could understand very little of what he said, but he did say he was calling from 'windows' and that I had viruses on my computer. After 3-4 minutes of having him repeat everything he said, because I couldn't understand him, he started to sound angry and I hung up. I was sure that it was a scam of some kind and didn't give him any information.

- CKI just got my second call from these guys... and both happened immediately after ordering something from Amazon.com. I am wondering if they have some way of tracking orders? The first time (some time in December 2011 after online Christmas Shopping) I listened to the whole call and pretended to follow along. He basically led me to a website like logmein.com (I can't remember if it was that one or some other networking site) and wanted to give me a password so that I could give him remote access so he could "fix" my computer. Today, immediately after ordering something on Amazon.com, I got the same call. Interesting... So, this time I told him I have a Mac. He hung up.
It scares me that there are people out there who are being targeted and are not aware of the danger. Scary...- Caller: Number 206-397-1126
- DaisyJust got a very creepy/humourous voicemail message. In a forced whisper he said " Call me."
