I want the people to stop calling my cell phone

called my land line - nobody on other end - hung up when phone not picked up

this number called me.  A recording told me that they wanted to sell me a GE Alarm system.  Hung up and don't know if anyone ever got on the phone.

Yes, this number registered on my caller ID -- 3 times in a row this afternoon; started at 2:50pm and rang at 2:50, 2:51, and 2:52 pm, each without ringing long enough for the answering machine or voice mail to kick on.  I do not pick up any call that are anonymous or that I do not recognize.  Valid calls that leave a message get called back; others can continue to waste their time because I simply do not respond to them even by validating that this is an active phone number.  The Do Not Call lists do not work because the biggest offenders are exempt (politicians), and I do not make ANY contributions via the phone.  If any valid charity wants to solicit my contribution, they must do so in writing, by snail mail.  Unfortunately Verizon FIOS only allows a small handful of a database to capture phone numbers to block.  Further, the service I pay extra for to block anonymous calls, does not work; the calls ring through anyway.  My landline handset only has a max of 30 calls for blocking, so that fills up every week.  I purge it and start over weekly so that obviously isn't enough to stop the nuisance calls.  It is only going to get worse as the political campaigns heat up and get nastier and more competitive as the months go on.  The only reason they continue is that a handful of fools continue to actually give these calls money.  Even giving any of them a moment's time is encouraging to them.

I have one yet another home security system from a machine. 2063971421 may be a phishing scam to see if you are home. I feel targeted. Who sells them my number? I hate listening to the phone ring and it bothers my older neighbor as she works outside in her yard and thinks it is her phone ringing and runs into the house to see who is trying to contact her. The hangups annoy me but the recorded messages are even worse. MAKE them stop please!

Just got a call that showed up on Caller I.D. as 206-397-1421. Let it go to voice mail. The message: Will I vote for Obama or Romney? Who cares what I would say? If I say I'll vote for one, who could say I'd change my mind the next day and I'd say I'd vote for the other?

I'd like to shut all these would-be manipulators up. Leave in me peace!

DON'T HANG UP!  You won a pile of what you get when you give a bull an enema!  Some kind of home security crap.  Why should I buy something from these lawbreakers?  Then press two to have your number removed.  I am on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY!  But these lawbreaking a**holes don't care because the FTC won't do anything about their illegal calls.  I was told by a staff member of my congressperson that the FTC is working on the problem but doesn't have the staff or money to really go after them.  Solution:  Give another $450,000 to Egypt.  Don't fund anything that works for the people of America!

Calls at least 3 times a day, at various times. Just a recording that starts with "DO NOT HANG UP", and they talk about homes being broken into, etc. Since it's a recording, I cannot ask that they stop calling. My number(s) have been on the do not call list, and I re-register periodically. I wand it to stop!

Just called the number back and was connected to their automated "opt out" service.  Says to allow 24 to 72 hours for the number to be removed.,  You have to confirm the number that called and your number to be added to their do not call list.

NEVER NEVER NEVER CALL BACK AND REGISTER WITH THEIR AUTOMATED OPT OUT SERVICE!  All you have done now is let them know this is a "live" number (that is, a number with a person on the other end).  Now they will keep calling or sell your number to someone else.  Always let a number unknown to you go to the answering machine or voicemail!

If you are on the do not call registry, to to the website www.donotcall.gov and register a complaint!  See the buttons on the left side of the page.  FILL IT OUT.  The more people complain, the more likely this number will be shut down or fined.
