I recieved a call on my land line I have had for over 15 yrs to be told by a pakastanian sounding individual who stated he was from Windows Service Center claiming "...computer has been hacked & go to my computer so they could show me how the hackers got in." I was told to hit the windows icon button and the letter r on my key board n tell them what I saw. Since I am no fool I wanted to verify who they really were n told them (which is true) I am on a old TRIMLINE phone with an actual CORD and cannot get to my computer give me a # I can call back to fix this HACKER business...was given 206-424-8913. Googeld it n saw these posts. DONT GIVE ANYONE INFO THAT CALLS FROM THIS #.

I had the exact same experience; I told him that I would call him back and he gave me 206 424-8913 to return his call. He stated that his name is Ricky Dawson but his accent definitely do not match his name. I asked him where was he from and he said Jamaica, however I've traveled the world and knew that his accent wasn't Jamaican but middle eastern.

I just received the same call. They claimed to be affiliated with a Widows Service Center seemed really ticked off that I would not comply with their "demands", were insistent that I should do what they wanted in order to fix this problem.

My wife got the call, "twice" and they indicated it was a "Windows security issue" and said it was "URGENT" and she would "lose everything!"...the guy went my "Eric" but I am guessing his name was Mohammed, and he was not from MSFT.  I insisted he tell me the name of the company he was with, and after I refused to believe "Windows tech support" he told me the name of the company was "Technical Support"  I asked him again and when he confirmed, I laughed out loud at his dumb [***] and asked him to send me an email indicating his company & the purpose of his call (can you believe I am still waiting?!).  What a fckn' joke, they are the worst I have ever seen, DO NOT RESPOND to ANY of their requests for data...this is an international "tie line" to India/Pakistan/Asia via Seattle....no connection to MSFT, USA or your operating system...complete BS!

Got a call from this number, said he was from 'Windows Help' (I remember the background soundtrack from being called by 'Microsoft Corportation' scam, they must think we're stupid)  wasn't the person he was trying to scam so he kept repeatedly asking me my name and relationship to that person 'before he could leave a number and message', I finally got him to just give me the number. And here it is on a list of scam reports, imagine that?

Called himself Sam through a heavy 'Indian Accent', and was humming when I picked up, I think that was my first clue.

Same happened to me today, Justin Paul (ID 1235568) from Microsoft wanted to help fix my computer and I am being hacked all the time.  Showed me over 5000 cases since Nov 2012.  He wanted me to leave him with access to my pc for 3 hours and to buy anti hacking tool for $299.95 and was quite insistent.  His pakistan accent, spelling mistakes on the page he was showing me and tone rang alarm bells so I told him I'd think about it.  Do not speak with them or given them access to anything - GITS!

got the same call today, with the same insistence!  was very upset when I told them that for all I knew they could be the hacker!!!  Asked why we didn't get formal notification of this issue and was told that the hackers would see any emails sent to the computer.  OMG, really?  What ever happened to mail?  I googled the phone # and found these posts, so I won't be calling back.

Listen to the alarms bells that begin to go off and follow your instincts!  Windows isn't going to call folks, especially from blocked #'s.
